Franchise Name sharing

Heya, I just felt like opening a thread where people can 'show off' and share their (hopefully) future franchise name. Mostly for fun and because I am interested in other people ideas. However it could also help people who are still searching to get inspriration.

I am still not over Otter-puns so my current favourite is 'The otternal haven'. Your judgement? :ROFLMAO:

P.S: I should point out that posting your name increases the chance of it being 'stolen' but I am sure the poeple on here are fair and honest enough to not do that, right?

I have been thinking about my franchise name for quite a while now, and have a few candidate names to choose from. My current idea is to go for this name:
Alvaras Jebuflu Zoos

The first two words originate from Planco, the language used by guests and staff in Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo.
Alvaras = always
Jebuflu = joyful

The name is based on my overall personal mood, which is always joyful. ☺

I don't have a Planco translation for the word zoo (zoos) yet, but I can ask James Stant for a translation. He is the designer of the Planco language and is a Senior Audio Designer at Frontier.

I am actually quite unsettled by my current name idea.

I wanted to chose a well known biologist as name giver, preferably female in order to honor women’s contribution to science.
I came up with “Dian Fossey Sanctuaries”. She even gave her life to protect animals! A devotement of my franchise to her did feel right. Also, the name itself had a really nice ring to me and my partner loved it, too

However, I’ve read up a little bit more about my future name patron and found out that Fossey hated zoos!
She fought hard (and lost) to not let two gorilla babies be brought to a German zoo and always favored the protection of the natural habitats over conservation of animals in zoos - which, to be honest, is the preferable way to protect animals no matter how well created a zoo is.
Additionally, Fossey always thought, that zoos are animal exploitation for the mere benefit of human pleasures.

So, is it justified to name my franchise after her?
Would she have change her mind, if zoos would have been back then like what we want to create in “Planet Zoo”? With such a strong emphasis on animal welfare and protection?

I really don’t know.
Should I look for another franchise name?
What do you guys think?

It's impossible to tell what she would have thought of modern zoos. Zoos have changed a lot in the past thirty years, but I think there is still room for improvements...

At the same time: You are just building a fictional zoo, so I wouldn't worry to much about it. If you like her work, go for it and try to be better than the zoos she hated. ;)

I've been thinking about franchise names as well. I still haven't decided but I was thinking it would be great if there was some way to display our own franchise logos (that we create) in our zoos and on the animal market. It's probably a big ask at this late date though.

I agree with nightcat. Make your franchise zoos amazing, exhibits larger then needed, tons of enrichment and natural looking. Something she would grudgingly admit was well thought out and executed.

I'm half debating making a YouTube channel just to put up speed builds of my zoos, and maybe do reviews of others in the future. I'm planning on doing realistic builds with indoor holdings, indoor houses (pavilions/tropical houses in colder climate zoos) in sandbox, and maybe in franchise, I'm not sure about that last one yet. But if so, it would likely named after my channel name.

I might have missed it- but are Franchise names unique names say like in MMORPG's? Will the name chosen in beta stick until release or be wiped as well?

Highmage- I had the same idea but with a blog. I enjoy taking screenshots and used to do this on tumblr with the sims 4 so I might continue the tradition.

I am assuming the uniqueness, if it gets wiped or not a post from a frontier employe did sound like it would get wiped but it never was said explicitely, at least I haven't seen it.

And lots of great ideas. Keep them comming if you wish.
