Freaky UFO

I am in LT 8190 which is a white dwarf system.
I have had a weird white thing pop up while flying away from the star preparing to jump to next system.
It is a dot - but it is not connected to the background - it bobs about. If when I turn away from it its movement is not like that of a planet or ship or anything. I have (god knows why) trying flying towards it but I do not get any closer.
It is not an undetected planet in the system - I have explored and know what those look like. It is not a ship - according to my scanners which show nothing. I cannot target it.
I have tried taking a picture but that just looks like a white dot and I am not set up for video.
I thought maybe a reflection of the white dwarf from behind but when I turned to look at the star it popped up again (and as far as I am aware reflections from the back dont happen)
I do not know what it is. I am scared.

This is the second thread that I have read about this issue, the other one pointed the OP to another thread about this possible bug so a few people have noticed it and if you wish you can report it as a possible bug just in case FD have not realised yet.

I've seen the dot, I called it Horace. And from my experience it has nothing to do with black holes.

I think I've encountered similar dot. I think it was only glitch, because it acted similar to weird glitch connected to background stuff in X Rebirth and time to time in other games.

It's a bug that often happens when a black hole, neutron star or white dward is in the system.

I don't know if this is the same thing as you are describing but I have had a small white dot appear and it moves in the opposite direction to my ship movement, looking like something being bent through the photosphere of a black hole. I just assumed it was a glitch and still think it is.

Yeah but what if it is the first glimpse of *gulp* thargoids? We do not know how they will appear or when they will appear so why the hell was I trying to fly towards the damn thing to find out what it was?

(yes it probably is a glitch but immersion here chaps immersion - it could be serious)

Same here, i had it pop up half a dozen times during my expedition to Sag. A*.

At first i thought it was a SC line effect that didn't work properly, making it appear as a dot but really I have no idea what it could be...

I think it is some kind of broken lens flare effect.
If i move my head it moves. Has the potential to drive a head tracking user into insanity. ^^

I get this ALL the time! Sometimes its a small insignificant dot out of the way, but other times its a big one right in the center of your view.

I thought I was going crazy .. out exploring too long, but I think its some sort of bug.
