If you had a Gold paint job for any ship before you received that email, check the Livery in game and you should have a second one called Golden.
I haven't check the AspX yet but I do have an old and a new for the Sidey.

You don't need to do anything. If you had a gold paint job, now you have two different versions of that gold paint job to choose between in the Outfitting => Livery screen. There's an improved-look golden paintjob, and the existing gold version.
You only get the new golden paint job for ships in your account that already had a limited-edition gold paintjob.

Ok. So you think its just there automatically? I got confused as it tells you to equip it by clicking the link which takes me to my account page. Looking at the page it takes you there is nothing there saying anything about gold paintjobs. Just my history of bought ED stuff. I guess i just jump into the game and check there.

PS. I did not have any gold paint jobs before so thats weird then that i got one... Oh well. Maybe add that its for previous owners only in the mail. Bit confusing otherwise.

If you have never bought or got a Gold Skin before then this doesn't apply to you. I have two ships that I have Gold skins for. I only got the new Golden skin for those. I have not and will not receive a golden skin for any ship that I do not already have a gold skin for.
If you have one then you get a second upgraded version.
An AspX gold skin has been rewarded in the past to people who pre-ordered Horizons, so maybe you're the proud owner of a gold paintjob without you knowing it.

So I take it Frontier just sent it to everyone who ever bought a paint job/pack even if they don't have a gold paint job? That's lazy / sneeky! I was looking for the paint job until I realized that I've bought the silver and several others but not the gold.
