Friendly warning Deciat/Farseer

So every time certain people don't like a game mechanic we get this kind of behaviour in-game? Oh good.

No, every time FD make stupid design decisions, like terrible police response time and awful engineer base defenses, we get elevated levels of     headery because they also refuse to have long-standing consequences for repeat offenders.

Due to the material and commodity requirements of many Engineers, combined with their random methods of sketchy upgrades, many Engineers are under embargo.

Engineers will be denied supplies and their livelihood until their methods are changed.

Cross the embargo line at your own risk.

Pathetic. Just pathetic.

Oh, cool. Could you just wait there for a few hours? I want to see what the heat cap on your Cutter is.

That would be a great ZING! if my ships were modified.

Which they aren't.

According to earlier reports, the aforementioned individual enforcing this "embargo" was / is using heat attack weapons. If this is the case, then they are not only behaving hypocritically, but doing so using horribly imbalanced tools. Kinda weakens their position, when the message is "Don't use engineers. Now tremble before the awesome power of my modified weapons (which you, too, could have, by participating in the engineers.)"

Not going to disagree with you. I'm just saying (indirectly) it would set a bad precedent for FDev to capitulate to the demands of one group over any other...

...oh wait, we already did that over UAgate didn't we? :)

I support this sort of gameplay. Gets more people in Mobius.

Please keep up the good work!

Last person in Open, please turn off the lights on your way out. :p

Aren't you meant to be impartial? Unless, you know, you write 'Mod hat off' before a post? :p

And here are the shortcomings of incomplete sandbox model. True sandbox would allow the players to storm and destroy the base (provided they gather strong enough forces) or blockade it denying supplies like food and water. No player killing would be involved.

Not in this game, sadly.

Not in this game, Happly

universal simultaneous access to the same shared world is not a requirement for a sandbox. it's not incomplete, it's that way by design.

Not in this game, sadly.

i agree, the game would be much more fun the way you suggest, but it's just not that type of game. i don't like this 'twilight zone' approach either but it still doesn't make it 'wrong'. in fact i don't dislike it, but i see how it makes many aspects of multiplayer impossible. yeah, sadly. it's just intended for a different experience (which includes being abused at an engineer base (which is ok) with no option to retalliate (which is not so ok) but that's just anecdotical).

it's more of a personal aquarium with glitches than an open world, and the odds of elite becoming one are negligible. it's not about the money, it isn't even remotely on the minds of the authors. so ... just keep swimming, just keep swimming ...

(In Yuno Gosai voice) "NEVER!"

I'll just taunt him by breaking interdiction and getting on his six. If he follows me into atmo, just tackle him to the dirt.

I will never give up Open!

Writing mod had off isn't a requirement. Some mods do it, others don't.

We are meant to be impartial in our moderating, not in our opinions. Expecting mods to be sans opinion... well, if that were the case, we'd simply have to run secondary accounts where we can post our opinions and not be shown as being moderators. That would be worse perhaps, since it would be invisible to regular users when a moderator was pushing their opinion and moderating in line with that.

At least if i'm banging on about open vs solo, and then i ban you in the same thread for what you see as being an invalid reason, you can flag it to Brett and tell him that i was unfairly moderating in a thread i was actively posting in.

Pros and cons to both sides of course.

Not in this game gladly. Since Elite provided the sandbox label decades ago that label has been misused by many.

Been playing in the Deciat area all weekend never saw a problem in solo, but seeing as how the engineers update would provide a pickle barrel for griefers in MP to grief I checked the bounties and saw what I expected.
