We have this amazingly, "huger than we ever can utilise" galaxy and yet mechanics are so mixed and repetitive.
One of the many complaints is the lack of group content. And also how content interacts with each other and seems to be imbalanced since it needs to be fitting for many pilots at once.
Why isn't there simply an area in the galaxy made for newbies, like around Sol, where stuff is rather easy and fitting their needs. No big wing quest, no very dangerous bountyies and assassin missions.
And then some area in the galaxy is just a superhostile environment. There basically everything is, wing content that only real skilled and tough wings can handle.
Of course we do not only have those both areas and have many areas inbetween slowly traversing and increased skill requirement.
Honestly, the current galaxy simply IS THAT HUGE, to give FD the luxury to create "dead content" areas for pilots not able to handle it. Because by the huge size of the galaxy, what would it really hurt a player when those 100 systems are a no go area for him? All he loses is a tiny, for him insignificant amount of stars to visit. But the gain to craeate low, medium and up to super dangerous areas exclusively for people with specific skills would give the game a so much better "progression" and challange for people at the upper end of skills and equipment.
At least possible progressions would exist yet don't force people to participate, because if they want they can simply just stay in the safer places.
Seriously, when was the last time one of the experience players got scared by the idea of entering a "haz res" site? I think we truly need these stages up to an "nearly unfair difficult" area in our galaxy.
All we need is a proper warning to not make newbies accidently go there
