My guess too. Reckon landing on planets.
They wouldn't give landing on planets without First person walking around.
In my opinion, Just giving landing on planets is boring, Unless they also allow us to get out of our ships and explore alien life or the barren frozen iceworlds or jungle worlds.
Going from current game to > FPS is easier than going from Current game to >Landing on planets than FPS
Imagine the amount of gameplay that can be intermediately added, For example, First person boarding mechanics, Shipboard activities, Missions to join any of the 3 major powers or minor powers in their Army, as a space marine etc.
For Ship to Ship boarding mechanics, you and your friends could team up, the captain launches boarding pods to which your friends are actually inside, you physically see from different points of view as you enter the enemy ship and thus the FPS element of the game can be shown this way.
For Ship Board activities might include maintenance and repair and healing of crew with medbay stations, This would also solve what happens to your character if you die with a "cloning station" with "Quantum Concious Transmission" So when you die your suit sends an FTL transmission of your conciousness to a clone of your self onboard your ship in a Clone Bay. (essentially respawn, Yet can be interesting if you need "ammo")
Scientific analysis and very interesting exploration, you can physically man scanner equipment used to find the Chemical Composition of planets and moons and if they have alien life.
I just think it would make way more sense to do the human aspect of the game before we tackle the vast expanse of planets and cities.
