Please lift the Lockdown around the CG in HIP 90578 (I know you can) because it's not fair to the explorers that the CG was shut down because the gankers put it into lockdown

Obviously not happy about the gankers but I really think the blame is on FDev because this never should've happened to begin with.
Whether this is within the "rules of the game" in my opinion is irrelevant because the CG itself has been shut down and there's nothing any of the players can do about it.

Before you say "Oh why don't you do some bounty hunting and lift the lockdown"
I did and I'm sure others have as well, the status has barely moved...It appears we will NOT lift the lockdown before even the extended deadline runs out.
Anyone who has data will not be able to turn it in and will not count.

The game isn't broken in this instance. The lockdown happened because the BGS is operating as designed.

Anyone who has data will not be able to turn it in and will not count.

Since the CG reached tier 1, there's nothing any more to count for. The community won't be losing anything any more, only thing you will be losing is the higher payout.
Otherwise, if you want to support Brewer, you can turn in your data to any other Brewer controlled station. Or you can turn it in at any station that is held by a faction you want to support.

For everything else, well, I guess this thread will be shut down in short order, as we already have two threads ongoing with this discussion:

Trailblazer Echo - Universal Cartographics lockdown

I'm a bit lost... Flew to Trailblazer Echo after shortening my planned exploration trip, accepted the CG mission, but some services on the Trailblazer Echo are on lockdown for me. I have no clue why...

It was players that forced it into lockdown, and it is players who can get it out of lockdown.

Appears that not enough players are trying to counter the lockdown as compared to those who are working to maintain the lockdown. It was always going to be a challenge to lift the lockdown because of course the players that worked to put the lockdown in place certainly weren't going to just stop just because the CG deadline was extended.

Additionally, one side effect of extending the CG a few more days was it issued an indirect challenge to those who caused the lockdown to maintain it and likely drew more people in to that side.

We (explorers) caused (or at least significantly contributed to) this by starting a war in the system. Now there are consequences for messing with the BGS.

FYI, there is nothing unique about this CG and you're not missing anything. The special DSS can be bought from tech brokers for the last several years. The credits from exploration are small even with the 4x bonus, I recommend concentrating instead on exobiology while exploring if you want credits.

This is the risk with any CG. Players can (and often do) screw with it.

I'll be relocating to help some bounty/security efforts, but ultimately the community at large has to decide if its worth the time/effort.

Nope, I sold mine for merits instead, had 18 million credits worth. The game is playing as intended.

Events like this are the reason that I take the earliest opportunity to participate in a CG just enough in order to "get my foot in the door" so to speak. Events outside the game can also interfere; if I were to have an illness or an accident and thus be unable to play for a while, then having done the absolute minimum to qualify for a reward will at least ensure that I don't miss out completely due to circumstances beyond my control.

I get that it really sucks to be locked out of participating in a CG, but one of the potential consequences of playing in a shared galaxy that responds to player actions is that stuff will occasionally happen in a way that is unfavourable to one's personal goals. Thankfully in this particular case, learning the lesson should not be too painful; it's unlikely the DSS being offered is better than the one available from the Tech Broker, and there will certainly be more CGs in the future to which one can apply this experience.

What about one to bring Tritum to the megaship so it can jump to a secure system?

How about some of instance scenarios to defend the megaship like we have around ships in other systems?

Unlocl missions so we can get some settlement raids or else more pirate kill missions with greater system influence.

Anything other than sitting in haz res like everyone is doing.

technically yes. practically no. the state of the system is too imbalanced. ofc no exact numbers are available, but id guess it would need multiple people per one ganker to be able to lift it.

i think it should be lifted for a day. write a 'commendation' for all the people who 'won' the system, but lift the lockdown. even if just for the cartographics if possible.
at some point gms have to decide whats better for the game and when they set up cg badly, there should be amends. generally i dont support gods handholding particular group, but id make an exception in this case. let the people turn in their stuff. id like to say that it should have an underlying 'this wont happen again', but ive been here for some time now.
last time fdev messed up (albeit different situation), titan rewards were given to everyone visiting titan system...

As I understand it players who want to end the lockdown can do anything that improves the security of Brewer in that system, just as players who don’t like the fact that FDev have already changed the rules by the extension can do things that reduce the security.

Neither side indulging in the main activities that will affect these changes need to be in open they can shot security/wanted NPCs just fine in any mode.

i dont need anything from the cg although i handed plenty before lock down,spent a few days bounty hunting to support the chance of lifting it,seems to me the cg cg has been beaten by clever play by a group of players,happens.

I had heard this can happen but I don’t remember it ever occurring even once to a CG since I started playing in 2019… if the people in opposition actually managed to do it this time I don’t see why their work should be undone by FDev unless there is something not working correctly with the BGS that led to this state coming about.

That's because usually there will be a BH CG running parallel to a CG, which stabilizes the BGS I believe.

In the past I have assumed that's FDev being inclusive to combat oriented players who may not enjoy space trucking but also want to take part in CGs.

Now I see that it also has an unnoticeable side effect of ensuring station services remain open.

This is the kind of emergent gameplay cmdrs have been craving for in years.

The main thing that happened here was the change of system hands midway through the CG, which normally isn't possible unless the system was already at war when it started. If the system hadn't changed hands, the lockdown wouldn't have affected Brewer which, at the start, only had the one megaship and no other assets in the system.

For Brewer to have run a parallel BH CG, people would have had to hunt outside the system and bring the bonds to the CG system, which would have made the war even more likely to cause a change of hands. If a BH CG was created for the initial controlling faction that might have helped keep the status quo.

It is just funny how the CG "station" is a mega-ship, anyway. If Brewer is that interested in the data, why not simply jump it somewhere else? But nice to see that the lockdown attack is still alive and kicking these days, giving those that thought holding back until the last moment is a good idea something to think twice about.

Just not enough people out there trying to reverse it, my squad has been out there all week bounty hunting every night in the pirate areas in a full wing and still the lockdown has barely moved. Fdev could have made a bounty hunting CG at the same time to interest more people get out there but alas they didn't. Lesson is don't wait till the end to dump your data, get at least a little in early to lock yourself in.

Some of my thought is people that got in early might even be the ones pushing it into lockdown to keep those last minute people wanting to dump huge amounts of data from pushing them down the tiers. Someone is out there killing the cops keeping the system in lockdown, not sure who though.
