Horizons already required an upgrade to get access to the latest features, without making it impossible to play together when not doing anything reliant on those features. But the base game client continued to get updated too with non-Horizons features, etc. And Horizons/non-Horizons players can play together so long as they don't get too close to a planet, which I think is probably very positive for new players getting into the game communities, without people having to keep no-expansion alt accounts. (Fuel Rats, for example)The exception has been (And I know I'm stealing a Certain Co-Hosts Thunder here) Guild Wars where they decided to completely do a new release. As Guild Wars and Elite: Dangerous are 'Buy Once and play' games (Not subscription or Fremium models), It might be in Frontier's interest to have the 'Classic' and New Era clients to be incompatible, thus forcing people to upgrade if they want to get the latest features.
I would say the darkest day would be the absolute cluster that was the whole Salome event, where FD basically gave the reigns to certain players and instancing very suspiciously favored some.Darkest day? That was EDs most incredible moment.

It was the day everyone came out their pods, ate breakfast as normal only to have an enemy rip through someones abdomen like tissue paper.
I think fleet carriers have those. Or maybe they're limited to Ludicrous Speed. Who knows? All we need now is a Plaid FSD and the Furry Zemina part of me can rest for three weeks.

Frontier did register the Elite: Deadly trademark some years back. Could this be an opportunity to use that for the New Era?
Frontier doesn't pay dividends, the only way a shareholder makes money is by selling their shares for more than they purchased them for on the open market and it seems the market isn't that impressed as the price is down about 10% on the news.
Guess those shareholders are out of luck. Sorry T.j.
I got you covered, babe.I just need a giant helmet for my Holo Me and I'm set.
I'm a big picture person.

Pretty funny reading comments by people who have no idea how to interpret financial results comms.
You’re going in the wrong direction, because the “Dangerous” part of Elite: Dangerous is a reference to the Pilots Federation lowering their standards for entry to the “Elite Pilots” club.Elite: Dangerouser

Therefore, any true sequel to Elite: Dangerous should be Elite: Competant.![]()
