Frontier Issues Tracker

The voting option becomes available once a report is listed as 'Confirmed'.
Meaning that the ticket that I put in a month ago for a crashed instance that cost numerous iterations of harvesting, that is still Confirming, is still being ignored and is likely to never be addressed because no one is going to comment on a one off unique event to "Confirm" it.

Status screen for the factions in the system in Luyten's Star may have a bug but I did not want to submit a report in case I'm wrong. I was looking at two factions at War but it is not giving a status for which side is winning or losing. And over the last few days the influence has not changed for the top two factions in the system.

I thought the tick was automated

Normally it is, but it can be done manually. I guess someone tried to change something, did a manual tick & it went wrong.

The lack of communication over stuff like this is normal for Frontier, they'll fix it eventually.

Since this is the Issues Tracker Announcement Thread if you have any game stuff you want to work out you can go to the appropriate section of the ED forum.
If you would like to report a bug to the Issues Tracker that link will take you there
Thanks!
I only have an old IPad with the old OS. The "Issues Tracker" doesn't work for me at all. When I follow the link, I only get a blank page. The only way I can use the "Issues Tracker" is by purchasing a new iPad with an up to date OS. Is there any other way to report issues that's not going to cost me upwards of £200+?

Use your phone, Use someone elses, Use a PC, Use someone elses, Use the browser included with your console if that's what you are playing on.

I would also suggest, like MickyG1982, to use a phone or any other means you have to connect to the internet. Currently the Issues Tracker is the only way to report them. Let us know if you are still unable to report it :)
Thanks!

The system is not designed to deal with one offs. 61 days of not even being acknowledged for a trivial issue that would take at most 10 minutes to deal with.

The Issues Tracker is a new website that will replace the current forum system of reporting bugs with one that puts the power in your hands. The new Issues Tracker will not only make it easier to report new bugs and issues to us but will also help make clear to us which issues matter most to you.
Either you're exercising in euphemism, or the system has room for improvement (which is also a euphemism).

Whichever way you call it, not impressed.

Shame nobody at FD listens

Bug reports do regularly get completed, bugs get fixed, the game is tweaked fairly regularly too, presumably either fixing minor (easily fixed) bugs or the devs proactively tweaking things like mission & NPC templates. Stuff that doesn't need a client patch & can be done server-side.

But there is little to no direct feedback that this is done unless the player plays regularly & notices these changes, or has a particular bug they regularly encounter & notice it has been fixed. It would be a feather in FDev's cap if they were to announce these kind of things so that the work that does get done is more widely visible.

That said, all these little tweaks seem to regularly be undone when client patches are issued, I suppose that's a problem with version management (ie the patch is based on an old version of the code not the live code). But it's all anecdotal, and I certainly don't track & record every detail of the game just in case it gets fixed and/or broken enough to report on them, and they don't usually bother me enough to raise a bug report either. If something did I'd report it & know if it got fixed from playing the game :)

There are so many long standing issues with the game going back years that have been logged by various players including myself that have simply been ignored. I mean look at the latest disaster, the PWS, which now works backwards. I mean what is all that about? There's a long list of other issues going back to the launch. The main problem with the Issue Tracker is the voting system. That is just wrong. I don't know any other developer that cherry picks from it's own faults and even then, doesn't do a lot to remedy the situation.

People seem to be confusing tickets with issues.

You can still raise tickets for personal issues, like loss of credits or things that do not affect others. Issues are for general reports of bugs that can affect multiple people. The issue tracker replaces the forum bug system

The main problem is FD have done their damndest to hide away the ability to raise tickets directly, usually making you go through multiple clicks of suggested solutions and stuff before you can get a link to raise a ticket (and not always, sometimes it leads to dead ends). If you know you need a ticket rather than an issue though, go direct for a category where its clear a ticket is the way to go, then just change the category on the dropdown for ticket type.

Eg: select the category for lost items and then it doesn't give you the runaround offering alternate solutions or suggesting you raise an issue.

Then you get this: https://customersupport.frontier.co.uk/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000792139

Then hit the dropdown and change the cateogry to whatever is appropriate.

FD could improve things massively by providing the option to raise a ticket from the main page, but clearly stating that its only for individual issues.

@Agony_Aunt - That would be because the language used for putting this system into place indicates that it is the method to be used for reporting bugs. Given that the Orange Sidewinder is a known bug, it is a not unreasonable decision to use the announced methodology.

Yup, its kind of my point. FD seem to have done everything they can (intentionally or unintentionally) to steer people away from raising tickets.

So its good to educate people about the difference and steer people as to how to raise tickets when appropriate.
