I would totally support the game by buying bobbleheads!
I just want this game to be what it can be, but is a long way still ahead.

If they'd do skins for the Anaconda, they'd be rich. ;)

And +1 to the Fuel Rats decal idea. Maybe someone could convince them to do a paint scheme and decal package like they did for the Onionhead.:D

I'd buy it for sure.

Ship skin textures, paint jobs, icons, even uniforms for the pilots could be sold in the game store, if you need more income. Micro-transactions are the way most games are going, in lieu of subscriptions.

I purchased the lifetime DLC pass back when it was still offered and I've been purchasing paint jobs and would purchase more if they would make them!!! Especially the really good ones that they came up with for the smaller ships. The latest round of paint jobs have been uninspiring.

I would also pay good money for a wide variety of cockpit swag, like the bobble-head dolls, or a hula-girl, fuzzy dice, there's all kinds of funny/cool stuff they could sell us to help jazz up the only part of the ship we can actually see while we're flying! (Please FD, hire more artists and prioritize your revenue stream!!) :D

Yeah this is something I've never understood. I'm happy to buy cosmetics but they've been so slow about giving us stuff to buy. Seeing as it's their ongoing revenue stream I'd have expected the external view and a bunch of decals/paint jobs to have been in for launch but we had to wait months. Even now there really isn't much to buy in the store.

im waiting and hoping for player home bases + customization , lol i would pay for my own lil asteroid base , long as they add a option to move my ships that are stored to it :p and they could sell skins for it and upgrades :p lol ... i had all sorta ideas about it but eh dont need to go into it :p but needless to say i would pay for my own home base lol that friends and people could visit :p

how is this game supposed to be expensive to develop, they only need programmers and barely any graphics except for some ships forms, no voiceactors to pay, no motion capturing to pay, no big story writer team to pay, no planet surfaces to build, no huge server farm because P2P etc. - don´t see anything that looks particularly expensive, sale price aside.

People begging for microtransactions are everything wrong with the game industry, no wonder EA is selling lots of microjunk and season passes nowadays instead of delivering complete games for a one off price like it used to be.

You are aware that zero ship visual customization is free in this game, it´s like making an MMO and to wear a funny hat, you have to pay extra.

Actually, what EA does is kinda like the devil.
They will sell you things you can unlock in the game and if you pay, you get it earlier which distracts from actually playing the game and experiencing it. And when that gives an advantage over other players then players will surely exploit it and that's why their recent games are full of hacks and lamers and not those who just want to experience the game. "must unlock tier 4...uses friend to help as cmdr"...not exactly as how the game is supposed to work.
Look at BF Hardline, called for lack of content and a no skill fast ttk. It's no fun and it has how many players at peak after a March 2015 launch?
3,663
Every lamer there was was playing a mode called Hotwire because it was a fast rank up system on No Kill servers, against their TOS. Simply drive about in car, get free points. The fact server owners were allowing it and were outnumbering the number of legit servers should tell its own story.
That's what games companies have to deal with and thankfully it's not in this game.
I kid you not.
EA sucks....a lot.

When ppl are talking about some nice candy to support the game, it's all they want, just something that they have and can pay for to support the game when it isn't even remotely in a financial crisis. It's more about giving the players something that recognizes their efforts. So , it's kinda like if you take part in something, you should have that badge...if you adopt a role, you should be known for that role.
How to do that in stats is one thing. If you wanna show it in your in game appearance would be another.
You either buy into it or not if you want a visual representation of your efforts.

This game has ppl who care about it, so FD need to pander to those who create their own existence in this universe.
They already know what ppl do, so if they want to offer those dedicated to a certain role then offer something special. It rewards the player and if it's cheap, more will buy into it as it is a virtual good. Too expensive and ppl will just not bother.
Better to get ppl in on it now rather than wait.
It won't change anyone's game experience if they do or don't.
They will have just the extra sauce and some ppl like that. They want the reputation.
Status, if you will.

The worry is what happens when they run out of operating systems to release ED on will we then get a subscription I hope not but I did not like the dev update comment which fuels the subscription worry.

No MMO I know of has a 'funny hat' that is purely cosmetic. WoW has lots of different, desireable high-tier armour sets, but all of them have different buffs and bonuses.
.
I have zero problems with FD increasing the playerbase, or doing anything to generate extra income, but given the seemingly general lack of positive buzz about PP, maybe they ought to concentrate more on store items that have been requested for awhile. I know a lot of players in high end ships want new skins, I also want new decals - something they haven't done anyhitng concrete with so far. I don't know I'd go for bobbleheads, hula girls [too "Fallout" for my taste in this game] or fuzzy dice [where would you hang them, there's no mirror?], but interior paintjobs to match the colour of your cockpit with the exterior colour of the ship would be nice, and shuold be fairlt quick and simple to do.

If they didn't move, or maybe did extreme motion (shake a little), and you ended up with a cuddly toy on your dashboard, would you be upset?

maplestory 2d mmo , its cash shop is loaded with items that are purely cosmetic , there are other things in there that did effect the game play ,but noting really game breaking least back when i still played it , but people would buy these cosmetic items all the time and the crazy part is they lasted 90 days before you had to rebuy them and people did it anyway , know folks that dropped 50-60 bucks every couple months on that game, so the idea of cosmetic times supporting a game is not bad one

I think your title could do with a change OP. It makes it sound like you are saying that FD are having money troubles.

Something like "FD releasing on the xbox is good for their revenue stream" or something.

lol just had another idea for way fd can make some money lol the billboard things at stations ad space for sale :p all sorta ways to keep the subscription cost beast away

There's something in the TOS about that I'm not even joking.

Pay to win what though? Is the problem that they don't want to add "pay to win" or that there is no real "win" to offer for sale? No mention of subscription you notice. Is that a possible future avenue?
