Frontier Stream Tonight??!?!?!?!

Let them announce it where they like - shout it out the window - graffiti it in public toilets in Kings Cross station if they want - just.... when you have forums for your game - those should ALWAYS be used first - anything else is just fluff. Or don't have forums at all - some games have tried that,...... went well for Warhammer online didn't it ?

Maybe next patch notes will be also posted only on Twitter. Visble just to followers.

I agree it's odd not to give notice here where historically they always have been but they will have the stats on numbers of viewers and it should be easy enough for them to correlate any increase or decrease in viewers based on where it's been announced.

I'm only interested in development streams where I can learn new information about the game. I gather this was just a get together with a few streamers, so this wasn't one I would have watched live anyway.

Not letting this forum know there's a stream is a massive fail from the comms manager whoever that is. Surely you want to broadcast large and wide to get the biggest audience possible?

Apparently not. I had no idea there was a stream today. Was it any good?

It took them two hours to respond to the server outage. It may be a more general problem than Frontier. But, Frontier is no General. :)

Okay, so there is this quote from BrettC:
It was a TwitchTV 'lets play' styled event with Will earlier today. Generally, we don't constantly announce those (be it global notice or announcements, or a sticky) on the forums as it's not a "big event" stream. :)

So apparently forum users don't need to bother with "smaller" streams. There aren't really for us. They're for the small Twitter people.
Good to know.

Yeah why would forum users be interested in that sort of thing? (Sarcasm, if that need pointing out).

Yeah, any frontier stream be they big or small should be posted on the official forums first rather than any social media. If its important enough to tell ppl on twitter then I'm sorry Brett the forums should also be told.

They should also be posted and sticky well in advance and not the customary 4 hours before the stream starts.

And if its not in the weekly newletter than oh my days..... why not?

Given the tone and attitude of posts not to mention outright slander of FD employees on this forum over the last week or so I wouldn’t blame them one little bit for leaving it out in the cold.

I kind of wonder a little bit if that is what’s happened.

Probably. I don't think they really "owe" the forum users anything.

It's not about owing us something. It's about them losing views. People have lives, you know? I had plans for the day and even though I received a Youtube notification at the start of the stream, it was kind of late to change them.

Yeah, they "owe" Twitter so much.....
I know from now on announce all Elite news on the Star Citizens Forums instead... what could go wrong ?
