Frontier, You owe the user base an explanation on the CODEX database.

down with op... and where is the anaconda paint job for the newsletter you said severall times no we cant do in small patch but it shourly will be in beyound. 100 people forgot it?

Yesterday I had no Codex, no list of first discovered stellar objects and I didn't miss it.

Today.... . I have a Codex, no list of first discovered stellar objects and I don't miss it.

What I don't get is if EDDB.io knows who explored something, how come the codex doesn't...?

I bet this is a bug, the messages from support are just incorrect communications/red herrings and it'll be fixed soon.

Thank you Frontier for giving a codex for my discoveries.

Shame that it doesn't include back-history but I appreciate that sometimes previous intentions (your previous discoveries will show) make way for reality (it is too difficult to upload 5 years worth of backdata for the entire userbase, on the off-chance that they will want to know what they did in once upon a time, and the codex is therefore considered day zero from the launch of 3.3).

What would people prefer from a free update? No codex at all?

1000 times YES take it back instead of throwing it at our faces half baked like multi crew, and with features that were officially promised but now missing.
And it is not a free update. It is free for horizon owners and in order to be one, you had to give, guess what... money. And horizons allthough lasted two years instead of one that was promised, it is far from finished, take a look at multi crew.

That's just pure forum worrying now. You cut out one sentence of his post and quote it out of context.
He explained in detail why he didn't consider it a free update.
You disagree with him, fine, but at least make the effort to explain why you disagree, instead of just being patronizing.

EDIT: not "worrying" of course, "warring" was what the word i was looking for.

This question was asked on the live stream and in the feedback thread and we were told it would be included! so you can go play white knight some place else.

At last, someone else heard them say it.

I heard one of the Adam's responding to the question saying basically ' yes, your historical data would be included in the Codex, but he wasn't certain how far back this data would go'

Looks like it only went back to 4.59pm yesterday!!!

Unfortunately Stuart is right. I thought they said it would be included, was 100% convinced and pretty unhappy about it not being included. The link to the stream was posted (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5051&v=rtmmmP_waf4 and in hindsight he indeed only talks about the session log and archive not the discovery tab. :(

I asked him to prove the quoted statement. Nothing patronising about that, just a normal request on a discussion forum.

He can "consider" all he wants to, but unless he can prove that he paid money for the release then his statement is patently wrong. So, put up some proof is all I'm asking.

If I were to install it now, would it retroactively know everything? Genuine question, not using it myself.

Beyond was always about fixing and "completing" horizons and base game. They just presented it with a fancy name instead of Horizons 2.0, because horizons failed to be completed in the one year that was initially advertized. And still not finished...

The question is did you pay for Beyond? If you say yes, show some proof.

Anything else is avoiding the question... So, are you feeling lucky? Answer Yes or No.

Well to be honest I don't know if eddb.io (a website based on the Ross db, no installation) does have this info, it's just something someone said and seemed reasonable to me as a question...assuing it does though, and...

....assuming that FD are capable of creating a report of systems visited by players (this is definitely possible) and have that report include first discoverer (this is more questoinable), that it could somehow be imported to the codex per commander.

As someone who works witht hese kinds of systems, I just wonder how or why this isn't possible? Databases are easy, even big ones.

Exactly what I'm amazed at! The only thing that comes to mind is that to do an export of the data and then write the appropriate import, would just take too long.

Could be an unstructured database like mongoDB. This is of course, pure speculation.

What proof do you want? You want us to go for a meet down to a planet so you have your proof that i own horizons? Beyond was free FOR HORIZONS OWNERS. What will you ask next if i tell you that multi crew was part of horizons, thus NOT free? You will ask for proof for paying for multi crew? Are you serious?

here is the live stream @ 1:24
Adam Woods states..."Things you have Discovered before chapter 4 will be in there also"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5297&v=rtmmmP_waf4

During the Stream this was asked several times in the chat and the answer was yes!

No. He is clearly talking about the audio logs etc. It's called context. Those will and have been be included. Nowhere did he say that stellar objects would be included.

Still waiting for proof on the "over and over" thing that isn't people hearing what they'd like to hear.

Personally I think it's fine it's not pre filled. Gives it a purpose. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
