Frontierstore purchase keeps failing... anyone know how to fix this?

Upon placing an order for a 3,50 Hauler paint job and paying with paypal (as usual, done this many times before, nothing has changed)

Frontier Store keeps putting out this message, after the "processing" time has elapsed"

    • Order attempt has failed
    • Status from the bank: REFUSED

Now I have enough money in Paypal and enough money in the bank and its never been a problem before.
I tried 3 times by now.

One possible cause: because Frontier apparently can't use their cookies to remember a regular customer's currency, I had to abandon the first check-out, because it defaulted to Pounds once again.

If you don't notice the lapse, you end up with PayPal trying too convert Euros to Pounds, and we all know PayPal's exchange rates aren't exactly prime...

On top of that, the Frontier Store completely erases your cart, as well as lose the page you are on, when you change currency...
Be nice if they could fix that one of these days, make the store a little bit smarter. Its not only Amazon who knows how to do this.

Matter of fact, I have an email from Paypal, that I sent 3,50 Euro to Frontier, but that it will only be charged, once Frontier processes the order.
So Paypal thinks I have an "active order" (just waiting to be charged), while Frontier has a "cancelled order"...

Just send the money to my cousin in Nigeria; he's President of the National Bank of Finance and he'll sort you out within 72 hours.

That's a better answer then mine - his cousin is really good with the Paypals ;)

Edit: Though I'm still waiting for the T10 skins he sold me last week...

OP - Are you using an ad blocker? The store does say not to use one, as it can cause the sought of issues you are getting.

Yeah, this is legit, his cousin told me i won 100 000 000$
i just had to pay around 10 000$ of fees... the money should arrive any minutes now [money]

I have had this kind of things happened to me with paypal connected to a Visa/MasterCard, then I was blocked by my bank refusing paypal to charge my creditcard, and it was because no verified Visa /etc was not fullfilled by paypal.

Then I added a check to my paypal account to have a SMS sent to me with a code everytime I wanted to buy something using paypal, and this made my bank happy enough to allow paypal to charge my creditcard.

I have no idea what could be the problem if you have funds directly at your paypal account.

Has happened to me. It's just your bank, protecting your account.

Or, maybe the banks know about the Thargoids? :)

First of all, thanks to everyone who answered, including the excellent Nigerian recommendations.

Invariably, I didn't manage to include all relevant info:

- I'm normally able to purchase stuff without issue - just the day before, I bought two new space suits.
- I think I actually play the extras store more than I play Elite at the moment - it hasn't been able to catch my attention since I quit playing when the patch with the decaying reputation got released. Pretty stupid to buy skins and stuff for a game you don't play, no?
- So, this browser works with the store, my Paypal has never had an issue with Frontier's store in dozens of purchases.
- and my bank isn't involved, as I have enough paypal balance to cover this, from selling superfluous Star Citizen ships on the grey market, since there is no other way to get rid of them, unless you want to build up infinite amounts of store credit you can't spend anywhere else.

Just got a reply from Frontier Support, which confuses me:

Hey there Niels,

Thanks for getting in touch, I'm sorry to hear that about the trouble trying to purchase a copy of the Hauler Pirate Faction Pack.

So it seems on our end that you have three cancelled orders for this product in Euros and then the order stuck in processing in Pounds which is the one you abandoned at the checkout. Unfortunately as the others are cancelled on our store I cannot cancel these, you will have to get in contact with PayPal to cancel them quickly, I realise this is tedious.

However, the good news is that you should not be charged via Paypal as your orders are in a cancelled state on our store. I'm sorry that we haven't been able to provide more help. Once you have these orders cancelled, I would recommend trying to purchase again.

If there's anything else we can do please let us know.

Kind regards,

So, really, I wasn't worried about my Paypal getting charged on a cancelled order, I just want my pirate skins, and maybe have Frontier make currency settings for customers persistent.

Since the beginning, I never could find a hauler skin I liked, while the ASP and Cobra have really great skins...

I wish support hadn't failed to mention what they did with the one order that they *could*(?) cancel. They said I'd have to cancel the 3 orders in Euros myself (with paypal), but they said no word about what they did or didn't do with the one order in pounds, that's causing the problem with placing any new orders...

Don't know, but I do want to know how you can pay directly with paypal!? Whenever I buy something it makes me top up my steam wallet, I'd buy more stuff if I didn't have to do that. :S

Use a different browser. My transactions kept failing in a different way when using IE, switched to Chrome and problem solved. o7

I think that may be cookies set in your browser.

The Frontier store has icons for payment methods you want to choose at check-out. One of them is Paypal. You click on it and then 'next'... That *should* suffice to get Frontier to load Paypal after you complete checkout, making it easy to pay directly with paypal.

I don't have a Steam Wallet - never trusted Steam all that much. I have a Steam account with a lot of games on it, but never touched their wallet function. Steam also lets you pay directly with PayPal - without going through wallet or anything else.

That's why I suspect you have a browser cookie set, that causes this diversion to Steam wallet... You should be able to find the cookie by name and deleting it should be enough, until you use Steam wallet again on that browser...
