Well to be honest, to have your canopy frozen there has to be some form of liquid on there to begin with, ie water. Since space is a frozen vacuum there is very little liquid in space

I was going to ask for wipers! Ninja'd

Empire helps you, get a slave to wipe the view.

So ' what, it was a darned cool effect anyhow.

seriously guys..... this new grafical effect is an joke. I cant imagine wich dev did by looking on this crappy effect though it will be cool to replace old one.

Real shame.

Even if you have to repair your canopy they'll install a nice new dirty windshield. The effect if only for the visual appeal, but that appeal wears real thin for most. Only really bad when you are pointing toward the sun, but sometimes it really is an annoyance, especially since now they also have you looking through your helmet facesheild that also has several visual effects. As long as it is not overdone it adds, but when they go overboard it ruins the experience.

i think some miss to point, OP was not referring to the dirty glass but the frost effect when you run super cold i recall it during the beta when i triggered it i haven't since or not tried, if someone has screenshots to show the difference?

I repair my wear and tear every visit to station.
Nothing changes.

I'm not doubting you, but I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

If you're using the "Repair All" quick button when you dock at a station, that does not repair your wear and tear.

You need to go into the Repairs sub menu, and there's a separate "Wear and Tear Percentage" that you repair wear and tear at.

If you're doing that every time, then I'm not sure what canopy smearing you're talking about.

That looks like the windshield of my car when it's frosted over. Why is this bad?

Aye, that's what I do.
Yet the canopy looks greasy :(

Isn't the moisture freezing inside the canopy? You are there and there is definitely some kind of oxygen; or just air. Not to mention, there will probably be moisture in the 'air'.
