Frozen windshild effect.... why o why FD?

I like both effects - just personal preference I guess? Only really noticed either in extremes of temperature - near a star or with everything powered down.

I'm not doubting you, but I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

If you're using the "Repair All" quick button when you dock at a station, that does not repair your wear and tear.

You need to go into the Repairs sub menu, and there's a separate "Wear and Tear Percentage" that you repair wear and tear at.

If you're doing that every time, then I'm not sure what canopy smearing you're talking about.

That looks like the windshield of my car when it's frosted over. Why is this bad?

Did you actualy seen the old one? But probably not because you asking this.

Well to be honest, to have your canopy frozen there has to be some form of liquid on there to begin with, ie water. Since space is a frozen vacuum there is very little liquid in space

But water is on form of vapour inside the canopy, that is why ice is forming on the inside of the windshield.
Condensation forms between the cold of space and the warmth of the cockpit and freezes on the windshield.

Isn't the moisture freezing inside the canopy? You are there and there is definitely some kind of oxygen; or just air. Not to mention, there will probably be moisture in the 'air'.

If I'm freezing on the inside I want a refund on life support and compensation for all the woolly jumpers I have to wear!

I've never gotten my temperatures down below 50, what are you guys doing? I would have to add that I don't really like the pixelated grease that is on the top of the Sidewinder's cabin. Haven't noticed it in the Cobra, or the Hauler (although the Hauler doesn't even have a top-end glass viewing port anyways).

If the dirt and grime effect wasn't so pixelated then it wouldn't be so bad, but I just built a new mid-range gaming rig and am running E:D on Ultra.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I have another gripe about the UI inside ships. This doesn't effect my Cobra too much, but in the Hauler I could barely read the diagnostics when a star was shining down into the cabin due to the hologram's orange color. I think there is a program out there that changes this, does anyone know what it's called?

No the entire frozen effect is anyway, Although it looked cool.

There is no excuse for it, To the people that say it is FROZEN MOISTURE from the INSIDE of the cockpit, I do NOT want to be on the inside of that ship! No ship would allow the cabin to run sub zero. LOL.

In the name of god.....Please any developer can explain why FD changed this cool frozen windshil effect in this cartoonish effect what we have now?:(

Why change something what was prety cool already.

Sorry DEVS .... but i dont get it.

So but this one.... I request: "Please bring old frozen visual affect back"

Feel free to add your voice fellow commanders if you feel de same.

Got any before and after screen shots old fella?

Read up on the use of 'Silent Running'. It drops/hides energy use to keep you off the radar. You can increase it's effectiveness by manually shutting down systems. This is a pilot choice, but if you are in a type 7 with a full cargo of slaves, the one thing you can't afford is to be scanned! ;P

Humans are walking liquid bags, your breath alone contains a lot of water.

I'd be glad to get rid of the constantly dirty glass in the cockpit. You'd think if they have the tech to travel at FTL speeds, build a galactic news net, etc... that someone would have figured out how to engineer a windshield defroster by now. Hell, I'd pay some transient down on his luck trader to come over with his little bottle of Windex and clean the glass while I'm in the bay unloading cargo. :D
