Frustrated...

I'm rarely frustrated with Elite, but right now... I'm quite frustrated. There has been a bug with cargo scooping on the Imperial Clipper which has been lingering for almost two months now--probably more. I seldom have time to game these days due to my hectic two jobs work schedule (wife sick, can't work anymore, doctor bills are ridiculous), so when I hopped on today, much to my dismay, the bug was still there.

In the Clipper, when you pick up cargo, the HUD will say it has been picked up. If I scoop or drones, I hear the cargo going in. I check inventory--nothing.

I have no recourse. I can't scoop cargo in my clipper. I'm grounded and it stinks.

And this bug has existed for over two months and still hasn't been squashed.

Will it ever be fixed?

I don't have a clipper, but I had a similar issue (though it only happened once) a while ago. I think I was still in a Viper at this point, but I took a salvage mission (black box or trade data, something like that), found the cargo, scooped it up, and then escaped just as a few enemies were jumping in to take me out. But the mission log still said "Trade Data: 0/1," and sure enough, my cargo hold was empty. Went back to circling the planet, found another mission objective signal source, picked up the item, and this time it registered. Not exactly the same problem you're having, but possibly related?

Orcas can't scoop either. I haven't had a problem with limpets in mine, but manual scooping I find impossible.
With clean drives, my Orca cruises at 390m/s. So maybe consider pirating in an Orca.

I fly a clipper. No problem scooping cargo and materials here...

It is a weird problem that happens sometimes, not all the times. And the issue is when it does happen, it happens all day, no matter what you try or do. I've tried reconnecting etc., to fix, and nothing works. I just have to wait another day or another week and it might work. Or it might not. But more often than not, it does not.

Is it NPC dropped loot you have a problem with, or CMDR loot?

If it's just CMDR loot, there are issues that players in wings have with exchanging mined cannisters. So maybe this is the same issue.
