Dav mentioned specifically on the live stream the other night that they are very confident they can cope with numbers on release. Servers automatically spin up to cope with load. I am guessing the Salome event was partly to see how things would go on PS4 launch.
Maybe, they'll shut down the pc and xbox feeds so we ps4's can download and install ours.

Can't say i've ever had that candy!
I can cut them some slack for not commenting further on the XBox One X - it was just announced, and the console itself won't be in stores until November. The irony is that we know more about how ED on XBox One X than we do about PS4 / PS4 Pro. That math just don't add up.
Gully, I appreciate the comment. This may sound crazy, but if Ed Lewis (or any rep from FDev) had posted your comment word-for-word, I think we might all feel more reassured, but until that happens.....
Brits don't brag, but they do "carry on" a tetch
But I am a far too modest Canadian to mention that.
They will want to do more grassroots type of campaign.
Hey all, we're looking into your questions now, thanks for your patience. We're putting together some more information on the PlayStation4 ED release and so forth.

look, I get what everyone is saying on this thread, I'm a bit frustrated too, but in reality, what are we expecting them to say or do?
I can only speak for myself. I want Frontier to promote their game. Parents who are proud of their children brag on their children (often to annoying excess). When parents keep their children locked away in their rooms, it's worrisome. E3 is a nice example of how gaming companies promote their games. I saw lots of in game footage for games releasing in 2018. The trailer doesn't count - that's not gameplay, that cinema. The YouTube videos don't count, because that's not gameplay on the Playstation consoles.
I want this, not because I'm impatient to play (though I really do want to play), but because something is "off" in how Frontier is handling the PS4 release. Again, watch how other companies, including some small indie companies, are showing off their games at E3. I want Frontier to show some pride in their work on the PS4. If Frontier is not proud of their game (and I'm talking PS4), how can they expect me to be proud of it? That's what's got me frustrated.
ps - I'm not one to give in to conspiracy theories, but it almost feels like Microsoft is paying them to be quiet regarding the PS4. You do realize that's how Microsoft got the exclusive in the first place - a payout. After the big shoutout the new XBox got on the E3 livestream (contrasted to the dead silence re: PS4 Pro), people start wondering...
FD uses their freely available exposure in marketing very carefully. As they have very limited budget for this, they will keep mum till last minute. They will want to do more grassroots type of campaign. Also consider they are brits.
See my previous post. FD really doesn't show off unfinished stuff...they want to avoid that unless they are at beta stage or it is something they can't avoid. They have been burnt too many times. Thus they concentrate on releasing game AND advertising it as it is for now.
So FD being silent is a good sign. It means everything goes as planned and PS4 players will have ED ready and loaded for them to play.
If Frontier is not proud of their game (and I'm talking PS4), how can they expect me to be proud of it? That's what's got me frustrated.
