The deja vu is strong in this one
For the record, no, I don't like the FSS, and cumulative usage doesn't endear me to it either. I would be delighted if there was an option to install an additional module to bring back the ADS or something like it, as Old Duck / Mr. Skippy and others have suggested, as I like flying my ship rather than fiddling with knobs.
I've established a play style which involves using the rapid-auto-scan feature of the FSS to get what I want by flying to objects identified by parallax, which is actually very good fun, so I can continue to play - but it would be nice to have the option to avoid the FSS for the purposes of getting the sysmap.
I assume it is jolly handy for finding specific USS and scenario points and all that wonderful stuff, but that seems to be only useful in inhabited space. Which I am not in.
Right, as you were - I expect 160 pages plus by morning; I was quite disappointed, I'd had a bet with myself that the "Paint Dry" thread would get to 200 pages by the end of January
