Fuel Scoop Price Gouging

Don't think the increase in performance is worth the extra price? Don't buy an A-class...

Excellent advice Rasputin,

I real life Mrs Black will often pay a lot of money for an item that we can get much cheaper if it is not a ' brand' as you subtly point out it is just a con by the module makers.

Interesting. I didn't know that. Based on the "B" grade stuff generally being heavier, I just assumed that the fuel scoop was also. How do they explain a module having ZERO weight? Seems kind of odd and unrealistic.

B grade are armored and thus heavier+more durable except on certain module's like fuel scoop's, A rated are high effeciency so that's why they cost more.

Not to beat a dead horse, but once you get above a class 4; A rated fuel scoops get pricey. It is just how it is. It is up to individual commanders what they can afford. I personally go with B rated once i get past class 4. They do the job well enough i believe they are worth the price. The minor efficiancy boost of a A rated scoop i personally can't justify the price.

also it depends on what fueltank-size you run with. i reduced my asp fuel tank to 16 T + 2 tons fuel (full 4 jumps) , the difference between 6A fuelscoop, 6B and 6C (that's what i'm running now) gets down to seconds. when i went to sag a and 32 T of fuel, i had a 6B - totally fine. if i'd go farming neutron fields and would add a bigger fueltank (maybe...), I'd pay happily for a 6A....

concerning the price: the money you put in is anyway not lost.

I run 64t of fuel in my explorer Asp. With a 6B it is 1min 25 secs from empty to full. A 6A is 1 min 12 sec. Only 13 seconds of difference. Unless i was doing the Sag A* run, that little bit of time doesn't matter.
