Full beam cutter, can it be done?

I want a 4 medium turret and 2 large+1 huge gimballed beam cutter all efficient weapon modded and a weapons enhanced distributor

I'm pretty sure someone must have tried this out already and im wondering, is it viable?

I did this on my Corvette, while I wouldn't say it's not viable, it wouldn't be my recommended loadout. The capacitor would drain very quickly and while the shields dropped very quickly, I didn't feel like I had enough damage once they dropped.

Not really.

Wep enhanced distributor would actually be detrimental over a G5 charge enhanced mod, but no, it can't sustain them.

4 efficient beams on it is about as much as it wants to take even with the distributor mod. And that's if you have a reason to - the pure DpE of MCs, the effects MCs get and the lack of lazor ability to hull shred doesn't really give full lazor setups a purpose.

Currently running those non-existent Efficient Beam mods. Just had Broo whip me up a batch for my Anaconda.
My FGS also sports a pair of Efficient Beams.

Don't count on what's on other websites to be up-to-date. Go to the Engineers yourselves and see what they really offer.

Been out in the black for quite a while so up until last week that was impossible. Guess I'll go look and mod me up a few for multi crew related stuff!

Highly recommended. I have 2 medium and 2 large turreted beams with efficient mods plus a large PA with efficient mod. Can sustain fire on all weapons continuously with only 3 pips to weapons. No heat issues either.

Yeh i figured it would be something like that, the only reason i want this to work is because i just really like beams :p

I'll give you that they're intensely satisfying. I keep a set of beams for my iCutter and they're cool, but beams aren't about the DpE. You could always try and make them work for a hit/run situation, but tbh with you the lower set of HPs won't connect well with the top anyway. I can't see much benefit to turrets all over the ship, unless you want to put to "fire at will" on and ensure that small ships have to have chaff up to remain in remotely close proximity...

If you want a beam heavy setup you're prolly better trying a 'vette or 'conda. The iCutter gets instantly shafted on account of the C7 distributor.

I currently have two turreted medium beams and two turreted large bursts on my Cutter. All of them with G5 efficient. And my PD has a 30% boost to recharge rate. With two pips to weapons, it still drains a little bit over time when all four are continuously firing. I don't think just beams, even with efficient, even with four pips to weapons, is viable at all on the Cutter.

Yeh but unfortunately "trying things out" means days of grind in this game :p i had 4 poorly rolled g5 efficient beams on my corvette and it was doable but not nearly as combat effective as 4 stock burst lasers

Not you alone here mate. The salt in the wound for 2.1 to me has been needing to spend a week engineering for every new concept I want to try.

If you have beta access, that's a great place to try things out. All you need is fish. I'm curious to see if the 2.3 beta, which is not engineers focused, allows the same thing.
