Full Travel Log

Is there some resource or something I can access that will give me a full log of my travels since I've started playing the game? Obviously it would be nice to see it graphically, but I guess a long text list would be ok too.

Just wondering.....thanks for the help.

No... With the addition of the new Visited System filter in 2.2, there is a request to see if FD can allow us to download a list from their servers via some mechanic - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...nu-option-to-get-download-all-visited-systems

Given their API used to offer this information in the past, one can only hope it's not too difficult for them to offer us this information again somewhere, even if it's via a limited method (eg: can only do it once a week).

(& looking ahead the same for Discovered too)

If you have had one installation, then you can find the logs in your Product folder\Logs. Create an account with Inara and upload the logs there. Ta-Daa

I'd really like this to. Just a systems visited plot. I remember a journey to the cats paw when I started exploring, I'd like to see what route I took (back in the days it was all new!) It's a particularly memorable journey (for personal reasons) and i'd love to see the route again.

Wish the map could show just that.

If you have all the logs since you started playing you could get EDDiscovery and let parse them and then upload them to EDSM.

I think EDDiscovery has a plot view of where you have been.

Thanks for the tip! will play tonight and see what can be achieved..

Still needs to be in-game, however.

:)

Doesnt that depend upon if you've (always) had logging options enabled? ie: Which your average user would not?

I did not have verbose logging on. It appears the basic log now has all the stars jumped to without the extra edit to the config file. I think it changed around 2.1 releasing.

I don't believe so!? It may do so now... But certainly hasn't for the majority of ED's time!?

I don't think it used to either, but I've checked mine and it has logged the systems without verbose enabled. As Anthony says, something's changed.

Sorry, I'm confused (not hard)! So are we suggesting for someone who's not re-installed ED, they will have a complete log of all stars visited since release? Really?

No, only dating back to when a change was made in an update.

The netlogs on my SSD (New install) going back to June 2016 have got systems logged, on my old install on my HD I can't find any with the systems logged. I have never enabled verbose, so at some point FD changed how it works.

I'll wait for them to offer an official download then :)

People will realise they want it soon after 2.2 goes live, and then if/when people have to re-install, they'll realise they'll need it (again) :)

I have another question then......if I go out to a system that I was first discover, then surely the game will still know about it, and would tell me that fact if I ever visited it again. So why wouldn't they have that kind of information somewhere to easily get to or download?

While there is a method of scraping togethor a list of visited (from your logs), I don't believe there is any means of accessing a list of discovered. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can confirm this?

Frontier have obviously added their new Visited filter in 2.2. One can only hope:-
- They give us a means of downloading a list of all systems we've visited from their database, to then import into our local cache (which the filter uses). Note: The import already exist.
- They offer a Discovered filter in the future and likewise offer a means of downloading this list too (for the local cache).

Short answer - yes there is!

Sign up to EDSM here: https://www.edsm.net/

With you account via the setting drop down you can access Flight Logs and drag and drop your netlogs to the site.

This will then give you a jump by jump log of your travels. IMO absolutely essential for serious exploration and it saved my backside when I got trapped/lost in a sparsely populated area and could find my way out again.

GunnerBill, Thanks....where are these netlogs found usually and how far back do they go for the average person?

For me they are here:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64\Logs"

My netlogs are as far back as December 2015.

When you upload the logs you can drag and drop, I found it best to limit that to around 20 at a time.

If you installed through Steam it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64\Logs
