Functional or decorative objects?

Hello to you, I just saw (I wasn't looking before^^) that we could download from the workshop trash cans, donation boxes or benches, chairs, for example, made by the community.
Are they functional objects for visitors or are they just decorative (directly or do you have to do something to validate them in the game?) or are they just decorative?

If these are custom made benches, bins etc they are purely for decorative purposes. Sometimes you can be able to place a custom bin over a default planet zoo bin to make it seem functional.

I think the downloaded bins, benches etc are decorations or 'shells' to put over functional bins/benches etc.

Okay so it's possible to hide certain things (donation boxes I imagine it's doable) but for benches or trash cans it seems impossible to me right?
I think I finally understood that we need to add the word "cover" to have something usable^^

Nothing is impossible in this game. You just have to be creative
