I agree, I think he mis-identified you as an adder. ZP does design their ships along similar lines; the Hauler, Adder and FDL all look superficially similar.

No, little ship tries to ram big ship. And rather than being annoyed at some one trying to ram me, i found it highly amusing that he got his come up-pence.
I have watched it many times now, and i noticed these points.
He did not try to contact me.
He opened fire immediately, as my turrets only returned fire after i was attacked first, (i did not even press the trigger for my gimbaled weapons).
He still had two rings and 100% hull when he rammed me.

Totally bad attitude really, so got what he deserved. And made my day to boot.

Throughout several Beta Tests, the Viper always seemed to have issues causing it to achieve astonishing ramming DPS under certain circumstances (even without malicious 3rd party tools involved).

Considering your Shields did take quite a bit of damage (considering it's a tiny Viper and you ran with 4 PIPS SYS) and the Audio hints you got from the hit... You actually were lucky. Very lucky.
Had you run on 2 or even less Pips on Shields, you would have seen a very very unpleasant surprise.
And imagine what would have happened if you ran a smaller Ship than that premium FDL.

I might be wrong - but to me that looked like someone who knew exactly what he was doing.
Probably only entered an insufficient number in the appropriate field and didn't count on you running 4 pips SYS against a tiny Viper posing no threat...

you could be right, i use voice attack, and have a macro set for full shields when entering/leaving a station, as i had recently just left a station to head to the extraction site, i still had full pips to shields, and i like to have full sys after an interdiction until i access the situation. All happened so fast, but this could have saved me a lot more damage.
I also have 2 shield boosters, military grade hull. I spent quite a while getting all the stuff i have into my FDL with the limited power supply, i had to adjust until i just had enough for all weapons to deploy, whilst switching off unneeded modules.
Maybe also a tactic used because vipers and repair costs are so cheap.

I hit full throttle, a tactic i like to use against more agile smaller ships, is to head straight on past them and hit FA off, spin round bringing all front guns to bear. I suppose from that tactic, you could even say i rammed him, but the viper should easily maneuver away from me if he wanted.
looks like he defo intended coming straight at me too.

Thanks. I appreciated that :D

I'm currently saving up enough to get the FDL as well as the Vulture in order to try them both before keeping one. Looks like it will most likely be the FDL :)
