Future Anniversary Animals

I don't see why the Dromedary would be bad because we already have a camel... Are you guys forgetting we got the black and white ruffed lemur which was basically a reskin?

Dromedary isn't "too popular" for a freebie after, we got the red deer which was very requested and probably the most iconic deer alongside reindeer and moose.

Red Deer was only popular before we got our first proper European Deer (not counting Moose or Reindeer, which fulfill other Niches). But Dromedary received that many Votes when Bactrian was already in the Game from Base. I think this is a major difference between the 2 Cases. North Americans probably still want their Elk, which is at least as iconic as Red Deer, but Elk isn't receiving many Votes either these days, for the same reasons.

Another major difference is Two-Humps vs Single Hump being an easy to spot difference Visually, for the Average Player. To most Kids or Average Adult, Red and Fallow Deer probably fulfill the same need. But to most people Dromedary and Bactrian are unique and different enough on their own right and would probably pay for both.

What do you think of the lar gibbon as an anniversary animal?

It would be similar to the siamang, like the red deer was similar to the fallow deer, and would allow people who only have the base game to have someone to use the brachiation frame.

Again, like what happened with the deer, the lar gibbon was more popular than the siamang, but after getting the siamang the interest in the gibbon seems to have decreased.

It's kinda a shame, when you think about it. I feel like 2022 was the highest year for Planet Zoo, and now we're I'm 2023, and it seems that general interest has died. We've lost a few members here, nobody posts on the meta-wishlists, and every DLC seems to have less and less reviews.

I know we have 4 DLC left, but I feel like this is gonna be our final year, and if that's the case, I hope, and suspect, that Frontier will finish it with a bang and that the 4th, and possibly final, anniversary will be something very special

I don't think interest has died, but it is hard to keep the level of excitement when we know that we are in the dry season and we won't probably get any news until late March. It would be nice if Frontier filled this long wait with something unexpected. Not necessarily a new animal, but imagine if suddenly we got a lion or tapir remaster in February. Or a new picture teasing a new scenery piece or a new path. Or just a comment saying they are working on X bug. I don't know.

Lar Gibbon would be a great anniversary animal, I'd be very happy with that.

Well I wouldn't say general interest has died out when looking at steam database player numbers. Ever since the arctic dlc the playerbase has been stable with no major decrease or increase in players. Dlcs still sell well enough although I would agree that public discussions about the game have decreased as debating the meta wishlist or future dlc never turns into anything meaningful

I thought Speculation Threads have been growing in the Number of Replies and Views compared to last year's counterparts?

While not as much as the autumn thread the general off topic/spam has decreased. Actual animal pack discussion does seem to be better this year even just one month into the year. Yeah disregard the future dlc discussion mention then

general off topic/spam has decreased.
True, this was highest when the Game was Released and systematically decreased. But it is understandable.

Grabbed some Data so we can compare.
  • Spring 2023. 55K Views, 51 Pages (New, Growing)
  • Winter 2022. 150K Views, 172 Pages
  • Autumn 2022. 311K Views, 303 Pages
  • Summer 2022. 53K Views, 42 Pages
  • Spring 2022. 138K Views, 83 Pages
  • Winter 2021. 42K Views, 32 Pages
  • Autumn 2021. 84K Views, 63 Pages
When comparing Seasons, it appears to be growing. Comparing Winter with Winter, Autumn with Autumn, etc. I wouldn't necessarily make Cross-Seasonal Comparisons since there are a lot of Factors like Time between DLC and Holidays, etc.

You should take into account back then people used to open such threads like 2 weeks or so before reveal.
Lets look at how much time passed between start of each thread and dlc reveal.
Autumn21: 84k in 22 days
Autumn22: 311k in 121 days

Summer22: 52k in 48 days
Summer21: 40k in 22 days.

Winter21: 42k in 11 days
Winter22: 150k in 56 days

Far from hype time, wait till mid March.

I think eventually the only Statistic that matters is Sales. That shows the Actual Interest. Whatever Parameter we find on the Forums will always be dependent on something else.

Long legged jumper known as Serval would be a dream come true 🤩
Distinctive enough from Lynx and Caracal and also very popular in smaller zoos.

I'd say dromedary or black rhino cuz
1. there are existent props in base game already
2. the noises and the current models suggest it could have been replaced by Bactrian camel and Indian rhino at the last minute so there could still be the original models...

I wish, that let be multiple Anniversary animal in the game! A habitat and a exhibit animal annually.

My wishlist for Anniversary animals:
Mute swan, Sumatran tiger and Short-beaked Echidna as habitat animals

Indian cobra, Common basilisk and Red-eared slider as exhibit animals.

What would y'all think if we have, for this year's anniversary, if we received a couple of exhibit animals?

Instead of 1 habitat animal, we got a couple of exhibit animals

idk but I feel this animal can work as Anniversary right?

even though I prefer it to be animal in dlc that frontier will improve their enrichment in their exhibit and also the Two-Toed Sloth are much more active and fast the the Brown-Throated Sloth, but I think it can somehow work. I just want to get the Two-Toed Sloth so BADLY.
