Future of ED:O?

"By Your Command, Imperious Space Loach"

"Speak, Toaster"

"On all the worlds, a similar story is told. A small group of players has fled in fleet carriers".

"Then seek their accounts out, and delete them. They have not complied with our story line. Let the attack begin!"

"By Your Command".

This is why FD need to leverage large ships more- say if you had a small cluster of indie colonies you could make a remote CG essentially copying Battlestar Galactica- the colony builds and launches megaships akin to the Gnosis and goes wandering Thargoid free in a remote area. I'm 100% sure explorer types, other FCs etc would join in, and people who can;t afford FCs can use other FCs or tag along with the megaships.
That sounds really cool, actually!

In this hypothetical situation, BGS and PP would essentially be gone, right? As far as the UI, actually being tracked in-game, etc. If there were no human controlled systems or stations anywhere in the galaxy, I mean.

I imagined this as a CG running parallel to what we have now- a few systems essentially forming a refugee convoy leaving the bubble behind- sort of like a mobile Colonia but 100% free of Goids. So you'd have this traveling (say) around the rim of the galaxy for people who hate all Thargoid content leaving the rest to fight it out, or do the support stuff (as well as Powerplay / faction work).

In short it would be a 'third way' in the narrative- you have combatants, those who want to help the war but then this 'run for it' option.

But run for it to where? We've already been told that Colonia isn't safe so where would they run to? Just constantly become nomads? We certainly can't land on Earth like worlds yet. Maybe that might happen in Elite 4, but certainly not now.

Problem is, it wouldn't. The same people now ignoring the new content would also ignore Colonia being destroyed, because "meh them Colonials".

The bubble must burn to change the status quo. And if that means the game goes out with a bang, so be it.

At least it got me back in the game, I'm more than intrigued.
Oh I never suggested the Bubble shouldn't burn as well, I just suggested Colonia should have been first. There's 8 Stargoids after all.

As it may take 5 or more years for the Bubble to go (and that's if we do nothing), it'll be ages until Colonia is under threat.

Unless more Stargoids happen to appear that way, which I think is unlikely.

Like how I said in the example- a bit like the Gnosis you have a pre-set (by FD) jump out to the rim and far, far away...so in essence yes becoming nomad explorers (just in a giant convoy).

Colonia would be kept as it is (just, a bit on fire) along with the bubble (also singed).

A lot of explorers (at least on the forums) seem to do just this, all my idea does is wrap that in physical RP.
I don't see a problem with humanity trying to escape the chaos. I would even suggest that they might even try and settle very far away from the 'goids. Kinda like a distant worlds to find a new earth and they can explore and do all the things they like..
These things were popular before so who knows.
However, i've watched BSG and i'm wondering if your inner cylon is up to no good?
