No. Selfish would be the 0.5% expecting the rest of us who moved on from windows 2000 and XP when the time was right, to be held back.
Seriously you can build a 64bit dx12 capable machine for the cost of a new console, say with an i5 and a 1050ti.
It might not do 4k at ultra, neither does the new xbx either.
And if you can't be bothered to upgrade a PC every ten years.
Buy a console, I'm sure you can find a used xbx or ps4 from someone who is upgrading to pro or the new one.
Then again console lifespan seems to be getting shorter and shorter as well.
