G-force effects

Hello. Does G-force redouts and blackouts have any actual effect, asides from that colours? Can I kill my pilot this way, or can my pilot at least lost consciousness?
Thanks

Excess G will "red out" the screen, causing you to lose temporary control of your ship for a couple of seconds and leaving you "straight and level".
Not actually managed a blackout yet, dunno if it's possible. I have tried a bit.

Only really an issue in the smaller ships, and you really have to try hard to knock yourself out.

No, you can't black out or anything. I have no idea why they implemented it in the first place...
You barely even reach the threshold and even then a little alert message appears and vanishes...

That's it. It does not have any impact, at all.

Interesting, it never showed any effect on me at all. Never.

Starbuckz,

I was in a Sidewinder "taxi" with pretty shocking kit, mostly D/E rated stuff and no weapons. I'd been interdicted and the guy was using gimballed MC's so I was boosting away like mad, whilst barrel rolling and straffing like a loon. Screen started to red out a bit after a few seconds, I stuck with it and I did indeed get a warning about "excess G reached" (cant remember exact text) and lost control for a couple of seconds, reverting me to straight and level flight.

I never blacked out, so I don't about any effect on the controls.

I triggered the excessive g-force effect on the eagle and the vulture (it probably works on other fast maneuverable ships as well), and only when boosting and pitching down at the same time.

I believe this was a thing in Alpha, but was radically toned down. You can now only experience G-force effects in a few of the smaller ships which have the faster acceleration and turn rates, and then it doesn't actually affect anything anymore.

So it means i am a whoopy-loopy madman.
Dear diary, today I decided to not make make less loops and boosts while switching flight assist off and on..
