G2 Flying in VR is great, but why does the game keep insisting on landing for me?

Gotta say flying in VR is amazing... but so many changes since I last played. One of the changes that saddens me the most is the forced auto-docking. I loved having to land manually, now the computer takes over every time and it's hugely annoying. I did manage a maual landing once since the AI didn't interfere for once, but I think I have to rush it and I always did my landings gentlemanly leisurely. It's like Nanny State Momma Matron wresting independence away from me cos she knows "better"- annoying!!!

This makes me even less happy about automated cars in real life, I've been hearing about.

There was an update that introduced an advanced docking computer and SuperCruise assist - it’ll auto launch you as well as landing. New players have it fitted as standard. I think it may have been a “free” upgrade to existing players at the time - I remember giving it a try before getting rid and returning to my FAoff/Rotational Correction Off landings 😁

As mentioned by Factabulous above, you can switch it off - it’s one of the settings on the right-hand panel - or disable it in the module power panel, or even just sell it in ship outfitting and have something more useful.

Dock at station with outfitting -> Go to outfitting -> Go to Optional internals -> Locate Docking computer -> Sell docking computer.

Its a G2 bug, add it to the list.....





Hehehe right hand panel, ship, disable, you need to do both landing and take off (launch).
