Gained WANTED for no reason, adn cannot remove it.

I was doing some missions and apparently got the WANTED status for the first time. I have tried to remove it by the location it was given in, however there is no options for that in the Contacts. I have looked at other forume posts about this topic as well, some people said restart your game, so I did. But it's still there. What can I do?

Buy a cheap Sidewinder and let the Feds take you out, or, deal with it as it's going to happen a great deal in the future. I have to fly 50 or so light years to find a system I'm not wanted in and most of that is NPCs with no shields crashing into me or flying through my fire.

Ignore it. Stations wont open fire on you or deny docking. Fly in and out fast and you'll avoid any police reaction.

The wanted status has a timer. You can see this in your transactions tab. When the timer gets to zero you can pay it off, not before that. Bounties are persistent, unlike fines which you can pay off immediately. If you are still in the same system where you are wanted it will say "On H-Jump" when the timer has expired, so jump out of the system and it will clear the wanted status.

After the timer expires it becomes a legacy fine that you can pay off in the system where you were wanted.

You probably got the bounty for shooting a clean ship. If you didn't destroy it, then the bounty will probably have already expired, they last 7 minutes. If you did destroy it, it will be active for a week.

Also I would like to know how I can get a bounty, is it possible by doing missions?
You can kill other npc's or cmdr's that are clean.

Other way is load cargo with illegal goods, let be scaned by cops, they will put the fine that will become bounty after some time if not paying it.

Yes, wear it with pride ;)

Doing any kind of missions involving illegal activities might get you wanted. Shooting a non wanted ship as well as shooting a ship without scanning it will get you wanted too.

The bubble is big, finish whatever you were doing and move on to an other system.

I was doing a mission that was for WANTED NPC's. Also can i ram my sidewinder and get it over with? Or do the police have to scan me and kill me?

Get in sidey, there is self-destruct button on right panel. Or ram it into a station. Or shot station that will fire back. There is countless ways. If you die, no matter where and how, it will remove the bounty, making it dormant. Its timer is 7 days. After this, it become legacy that can be paid, on whatever system you had that "wanted" status. If you got any unpaid legacy, if you respawn, the legacy fine cost will be added to rebuy cost but only in system where you was wanted.

No, just being destroyed does not remove an active bounty, you will re-spawn with a dormant bounty.

In order for an active bounty to be removed, it must be collected by the player being scanned for it. A player can do this, and so I believe can an NPC bounty hunter. System Authority do not collect a bounty as far as I am aware, so just being destroyed by them may not work, and self destructing or flying into the side of a station or asteroid will definitely not clear it.
