Newcomer / Intro galaxy map bugged?

i try to find raw material traders. under the service tab, i selected raw material trader. should be indicated in orange. all systems in the galaxy map remain default grey though. i scrolled, zoomed... nothing changed.

how else am i going to find raw material traders? eddb only shows general material traders, but not the type.

It's not a bug, it is a stupid design decision.
You need to have visited the trader and be within certain distance (was it 40 LY?) for them to show on galaxy map.

thanks, can confirm. it shows the trader i just visited. i'm 150ly away, so i presume the camera range in the galaxy map dictates at what distance the traders are visible.

can you explain why this makes sense at all? am i supposed to write that down?

Let others write it down (or rather, let the PC players write it down automatically) so everyone can access it on ED's versions of the notice board in the spaceport bars, i.e. Inara and EDDB.

please correct me if i'm wrong, but, as i stated above, eddb can only find material traders. there's no distinction between raw, encoded etc. on inara, i couldn't even find where to search for material traders. i did now, but it's buried pretty good.
