Galaxy Route Plotter Broken After Ascendancy Update

sigh

The Galaxy Route Plotter is broken again.

NONE of the filters work when plotting a route, all of them toggle off if you so much as hover over the tab you're in, meaning you cannot set any filters from any tab.

The plotter was already broken before the update, as in it would plot routes through systems one had specifically filtered out, but this is a whole new level of .

Take a look:

To be fair, that's not a case of the route plotter being broken. It will plot you through systems if it has to, even if it was set to not include those systems. It does its best to get you to the system you want to end in. Yes, I know, there are times it says unable to plot route, but if your ship can get through a few unscoopable systems, I think the game takes that into consideration (I don't actually know, I didn't program it, I am theorizing)

I found with my controller that if I just move over the map after setting and then hitting the select button on the map the left hand UI collapses with it's settings intact. Maybe using the arrow keys on a keyboard would work the same? Needs fixing though.
Hope that helps.

Using one of the joysticks (of the controller) to move the galaxy map after selecting what I want filtered also works to keep the selection (using the D-Pad to set it), as the filter selection automatically closes when you move the map, but it really shouldn't just reset to completely blank every time you select a filter setting.

This would probably be especially annoying to explorers looking to filter star class.

I have just found the same. You select the filters you require for star types. Select apply to route. The plotter then ignores your selection. You go back and the filter you set has not been retained

When the game first launched, we didn't have a route plotter. We'd line up where we were in the galaxy map with where we wanted to get to like looking down the sights of a rifle, scroll the map forward until we got to a star it said was out of range, scrolled back a little and jumped to that star. I went to Sag A* and back like that.

Then Frontier added the route plotter.

When I was in the Corps Elite, we didn't have any fancy schmancy tanks route plotters. We had two sticks buttons, and a rock map for the whole platoon playerbase. And we had to share that rock map.

... I'm sure someone'll get the reference.

Up until 3-4 updates ago the plotter worked flawlessly every time. Yes, it would send you through the occasional unscoopable system if there were no other choices in the vicinity, but then it started jumping you into a brown/white dwarf even when there were plenty of red dwarfs right next to it.

Also, one used to be able to apply multiple filters for specific situations. I used the plotter to perfection in hauling CGs so I would only fly back to the CG station through unpopulated scoopable systems, so as to minimize pirate interdictions. Other times (literally until the day before this update) I would set it for anarchy systems in civil unrest to farm power restoration missions, or high population systems in boom to hunt for pre-upgraded ground gear, or independent/alliance systems in outbreak to farm pharmaceutical isolators.

Now I can't do any of that. This is a major issue for me, it severely hinders my current gameplay.

Thank you! Saved me the trouble. :ROFLMAO:

Yesterday I noticed that all the filters in the galaxy map were broken: all filters are automatically toggled off upon changing view, rendering them useless. I haven't even tried to plot a route.

It's probably because of all the traffic with the new update and all. Been trying to get back from Colonia and Carrier jump times are one hour!

If I see this tonight, I'll have to take a break. Everything I have planned relies on functional galaxy map filters.

There's no way I'm manually plotting all the way to Colonia with my carrier following. I had plans to carry my second commander out there on my main's carrier.
My third commander needs to filter out where he's been before proceeding. He's alpha-numerically visiting every system in/around a nebula (about half done).

I will take the time to add to the tracker for each commander that experiences this.

Edit: It looks like my filters are restarting at their state before ascendancy. Clicking category wipes it, sometimes with a slight delay. I provided my input on the tracker, but I'm still going to look for workarounds. Leaving it alone is fine for now.

This is the workaround, but yeah the filter UI interface is broken basically.
