This post has been quite some time in the making, I suffered some terrible losses in my personal life last year and found great escapism in Elite Dangerous.
I lost my Mother and one of my Brothers, since then real life has been pretty cruel but I am surviving!


I took inspiration from others and decided to tour the galaxy in my DBX The "Diamond Dog".

I started from Sol, Galileo station and made my way to the Great Annihilator, then on to Sag A*

I made 68,930,054 from this trip. I'd imagine the payout would be a lot more now.


If you're thinking about taking a long exploratory trip out, I'd definitely recommend it. I think i got a bit of space madness, but the trip blew my mind.
The Galaxy is HUGE!


Since I came back I've be working on rankings, got to Elite Trader, am at Dangerous in Combat and am 49% away from Elite Exploration.
Most recently I've been grinding combat rank, have lost three Anacondas through bad luck and not paying attention to rebuy balance!
Grinding missions so I can get my Fed rank up and make more money at the moment.


I think I'm going to stop with that for now and take another trip out. Plenty to see. Generation ships, Formidine Rift etc.

Sorry for your losses, but glad to hear that Elite helped a little. That's a great trip - and you're right; current payouts would be substantially higher, I think. I did a relatively quick and easy trip out to the Fine Ring Nebula (recommended for the view), then down about 700ly (was aiming for 1kly below the galactic plane but the space madness sent me scuttling back to the bubble). Made about 25mil, including a few first-discovery systems worth about 500,000 each, and put that towards a FAS for a bit of licensed aggression. When I've worked that out of my system I'll be taking the trusty AspEx out again. Feeling the need to see the Formidine Rift, among other things. Still hoping for my first 'first' ELW.

Been visiting the Generation Ships the last couple of days. Have really enjoyed the atmospherics and the stories told via the audio logs. Thinking about stripping down a Python and fitting my modded 5A jump drive in it, and a vehicle bay. if I can get at least 33ly out of it, I'm going to take another long jaunt out to the Formidine Rift, visit the Zurara, then I'll head to Jacques again, then possibly another trip out to Beagle Point.
