Since odyssey released, no new articles on galnet have the audio option anymore, did i miss something?
yea, i didn't start using it until recently with all the events going on, it added a lot of immersion to hear what's going on in the galaxy like an actual news report on long trips, i could not be bothered to read them otherwise.I guess you're the only one that was using them.
It would be a shame to lose it though. The only reason I don't listen to them very often is that I completely forget about Galnet!
Except the audio was missing already with the launch...Review bombing = Bad media coverage = People got fired probably, or will soon.
Unless people go on Steam now and try to fix the Mostly Negative rating:

It isn’t ”review bombing” to leave a bad review to an inferior product.Review bombing = Bad media coverage = People got fired probably, or will soon.

I always assumed it was computer-generated audio.I reckon it's a cost cutting measure. Galnet is one of those things that while useful (especailly in light of the fact that player driven events are not really a thing, or even discouraged), isn't really all that popular - until it's no longer there. Presumably they paid a voice actor to do this, so removing this has decreased their costs there substantially.
Thats why I assumed it's a bug or just an overthought at the current chaos days at FD I can imagine. I just thought that the game generates the speak automatically by reading it without any further needed input when implementing the news.I always assumed it was computer-generated audio.
The orchestra stopped playing when engaging an enemy ship so maybe they're all off.Maybe the audio team are having a well deserved break after all their awesome hard work on Odyssey.
It could be, there are some text to voice solutions out there that are believable, but if so I really can't think of why audio has been omitted from the most recent Galnet pieces.I always assumed it was computer-generated audio.
There's still work involved. Text-to-speech generally comes with language libraries, but you still have to define how certain words are pronounced, like system or character names, not to mention add mark-up to define voice emphases and the like.Weird. Ain't it Text-to-Speech so no work to do?
