While true we do have precedent for this, with the current day Cobra still maintaining its MkIII designation despite an older version of that ship having already existed. Also, since many assets from GalCop got sold to the Federation (and Empire) it'd be good to see one of the first joint Core Dynamics/Lakon ships released to be a new rendition of the Asp MkII, hopefully with a cockpit/canopy more along the lines of the Federal Assault Ship.

Very interesting points made on several fronts. I would agree that the most probable thing(s) to come out of this would be one or more new ships. CMDR Buur also reminded me that Vodel, the manufacturer of the Scarab, is owned by Core Dynamics. This leads my hype brain to now 100% expect that we will be getting a new Hoverbike SRV with Odyssey
