Titan Taranis destruction yields extensive data for research projects

12 MAR 3310

The recent destruction of Titan Taranis has yielded a significant amount of data that scientists across the galaxy have begun interrogating.

Science correspondent Leon Banerjee summarised for Vox Galactica:

“Research on Titans has been ongoing since their first appearance, and understanding how they function has been considered crucial to humanity’s survival in the Thargoid war.”

“I have spent time with everyone from the smallest private research bodies to the largest corporations in the past few years, and the common anxiety amongst the scientific community is still how little we truly understand about the Titans.”

“What answers does the caustic remnant of Taranis contain? What might have survived the destruction? When the wreckage is safe enough to enter, the additional data to be found there will doubtless benefit humanity in some form.”

Python MKII, here we go!

Maybe we'll get a Titan MKII—or Guardian constructs—too, if we're lucky😛

“We did a great job killing the massive alien ship that was likely highly unique and either took really long to make or existed for an extremely long time! Now let’s go prod its corpse so we can make better guns and further our own technology in ways we shouldn’t yet be able to.”

Humans and respect are clearly not two words that fit into the same sentence together.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the ability of humans to devise better weapons based on what they've done to the bodies of their enemies with the weapons they already have. 😏
You’re making me struggle to amend the statement properly to account for this. Curse you.

What do you mean? It can’t go wrong. It never has.

(Titans with torpedo immunity - if we get that - are going to be a big headache for those Aegis science folk. And Ram Tah especially. Sure doubt the same trick would work twice… but I don’t think I’ll be selling out to the magic solution which may or may not be presented by a certain someone in the Guardian network, though.)

sounds like an incoming CG to recover data stuffs.

Hopefully this will lead to more efficient Thargoid extermination. Or maybe the (missed opportunity / planned) on foot combat against xeno morphs.

Quote:
"What might have survived the destruction?"
And to quote a favourite movie.....
"I don't whats in there but its weird and &%&ed off"

Bill

"time for the blood test.....we'll find out who human and whos not......" 👾

Now i wished they didn't spoiled the new ships, right? RIGHT?
edit: But... maybe they didn't spoiled just everything?

(damned if they do, damned if they don't)
IFF the Python MK2 is born from discoveries in the Titan wreckage, then that would, IMO, dramatically increase the likelihood that the new "feature" in the pipes will revolve around 'deep diving' into Thargoid-populated sectors (which would be permit-unlocked, I guess), hopefully for some new non-combat activities, maybe to assist Thargoids (if they become supportable via PP2), and likely to continue combat like we have in the bubble. But, I don't want to turn this into the "new feature speculation" thread either.

Maybe it’s immunity to hyperdictions ? 🤔
