Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval has made a public announcement for the first time since the Battle of HIP 22460.

In an address before the Senate which left Senator Patreus visibly shaken and Senator Torval smiling she stated:

"It is clear we face a foe of immense power. As such, in response to this threat I have ordered the deployment of the Empires most powerful weapon, the Aisling Duval Containment Missile.

This weapon consists of the Princess contained inside an escape pod and launched at the Thargoid fleet. With the Thargoids compelled to collect it, it will unleash several gigatons of pure basking energy wiping out the enemy once opened.

Regrettably, this will also mean Aisling Duval will not return, but is a sacrifice I am willing to endure for the sake of the Empire. I shall miss her challenging views on my rule, and will deeply regret personally closing the escape pods lid on her."

The Princess has not been seen since the broadcast, but the Emperor assured the citizenry "this is what she would want, honestly".
