game crashing when starting in vr

I bought this game mainly for vr, but when I try to play the game in vr it crashes, but the game works perfectly on desktop version and in steam vr mode as long as my vr headset isn't connected.

I have a crash report if anyone can tell me how to submit it

specs:
Nvidia RTX 3060
ryzen 5 5600x
msi MAG B550 TOMOHAWK

headset:
quest 2 running through virtual desktop

yours sincerely

What VR headset are you using?
Also there is a specific VR forum you should post on, maybe more people will see you question.

Kk let's start with ruling out your geforce drivers. So update em.
Secondly and this works everytime for me, start the game via the steam library.
Itll ask you whether pancake or vr select the latter.
Itll start. Now go into game gfx settings and go vr low.
Then one by 1 switch on stuff till your happy/stable.

It's possible that B550 is having some trouble with power delivery to the HMD. Do you run a flight sticvk, pedals, or other sim gear when playing THIS particular title that you don't when using vr for other games? If so a USB PCI card may be the answer as it can draw another 75w straight off the PCI rail rather than using the built in USB controller, or a card powered via sata like the one below. MANY ppl seemed to be having this power issue over in the Oculus forums when I was there last, and this fixed it for many.
