Game just started crashing constantly...

So here's the thing... Everything has been working fine (great actually), been playing everyday for hours on end with no problems. Played last night for 4 hours then put it up and went to bed. This morning every time I launch the game I get a hard crash to desktop (Thursday oddly enough, after the server tick), it happens at different spots in the game, sometimes I make it all the way to my ship, other times it crashes at the Prewarming screen (or whatever it's called), other times at the main menu screen, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I've used Steam to verify all the game files and all passed with no problems spotted. I've been playing for years without a single crash, now today I can't even get into the game. Anybody have any ideas what this could be?, or has anyone else started today (Thursday) having problems with crashes?.

Nothing at my end has changed since last night, all other software and games are working fine, no new hardware/software installs since last night. As I stated, this system has worked flawlessly for over a year.

This is a duplicate as the issue was raised shortly after the tick. A number of players have been reporting the same thing, and it appears ongoing.

Strangely I was affected by the CTD first thing, but then there was no problem and I have been playing for several hours with not issues. Others are also playing.

Have you raised a ticket/added to the one already raised?

Same thing happening to me. The game worked flawlessly yesterday but crashed three times from three attempts this morning. Crash reports sent to FDev.

Further info -

1) CTD while stationary in ship on planet surface, exiting comms, shortly after entering game
2) CTD while stationary in ship on planet surface, immediately after entering game, no action taken
3) CTD while pre-warming planet shaders following file validation

So it appears that the issue is not related to a specific action or in-game event??

Using stand-alone launcher.

Thanks everyone for the help/info. (in my panic I neglected to check for previous post on this, my bad, sorry). I didn't raise a ticket but I did send in the crash report.

I had some crash to desktop with an open crash reporter too recently and some sort of server issues for days now where things in game do not respond as they should. Plants aren't be scanned, NPC crew not following to orders and all such.

For me the game also crashed constantly during startup. After I connected my secondary monitor to my laptop when I was ready with work, the game started fine on this big monitor, which was now the primary monitor instead of the laptop monitor.

Didn't have any crashes before 16.01, and now having them. What's strange is the game worked for about 1 hour, I changed planet and this one crashes my game so much I even can't take off

Replying to myself crashes disappeared. No relevant update on my side (Windows or Linux)
