Game keeps crashing on Xbox One (S)?..

The game keeps crashing on my Xbox One S, especially when I'm driving the SRV around for 30 till 45 minutes, but it happens on other occasions too, but this very rare, when driving the SRV it happens every single time..

When the game is about to crash it will lag a bit, or maybe the frame rate drops (don't know much about technical/ computer stuff, thats why I use a console ) and when this starts happening it usually takes a minute or 2 before everything freezes and I hear a loud and horrible sound through my headphones/ speakers until the console closes the game automatically..

As far as I know my Xbox only does this with Elite Dangerous..

So wondered if other Xbox One players experience the same issues.. Because I was about to send my console back to Microsoft for repairs while it's still under warrenty..

Redownload the game, and if it persists, I'd get your console checked out. I play ED regularly for 10 hour sessions on my launch model XBox One with no issues.

I had this exact experience on two XBox 360s not long before each of them bricked.

This sounds exactly like the SRV buzz crash.

The frames drop and then the game crashes with a loud buzzing sound.

Its a known issue, it happens very quickly any time with more than 2 srv's around, its not your xbox dont worry.

I agree, I have Xbox One and it works fine when in the SRV for very long sessions collecting resources. I would try clearing out your cache before you re-install as you may have picked up a bug. If it persists after you have cleared your cache then re-install the game and hopefully that may solve the issue you have. If you still have thesame problem then I would personally get you console looked at.

It is almost certainly not your console itself. Unfortunately Elite can crash often, we've all experienced this "buzz crash" before.

The first steps you can take:

- Clear the console cache. This means you completely turn off the console, unplug it from the wall socket, wait a bit, then back again.

- Delete and completely reinstall the game and all expansions. This will not delete your progress as it's saved in both the Xbox Live cloud and on Frontier's servers.

If, after these steps, the problem still persists, it's most certainly the game itself having a bug. Hopefully the developers will make it more stable.

Game issue not your console.
in general using energy save mode vs instant on helps but that won’t orevent this game from crashing. Even on my high end PC it begins to stutter and recovers due to my build...no way the Xbox one s or Xbox one c is going to be even close to maintaining.

Not all of us, at the risk of tempting fate....

Only issue I've had in 796 hours of playing on XBox so far, is where it occasionally forgets how to actually drop out of frameshift into a system, and just hangs there, trapping you perpetually in witchspace.

Though I may simply not have sufficient SRV time clocked to have had a high likelihood of encountering it. I'm still a little way from the "And I would drive 500 more" achievement...

Yep, definitely clear out the cache. solves a lot of persistent issues.

I've started hitting an issue where the SRV's HUD moves halfway down the screen, so I'm still looking forward, but the middle of the screen is full of header bar, and the lower panels are completely off screen.

Thanks for all the replies.. I will try to reinstall the game and if it doesn't work I'll have my console checked out..
