Game loses something by not forcing Open play

Eve was the most nauseatingly boring game I ever tried to play. I wish people wouldn't keep comparing it with ED. Or try and steer it in that direction.

I wish people stop trying to turn ED into a boring single player game that could be brilliant but wont.

Your opinion is exactly what it is. A opinion.

That is wrong of course XD

Well, the solo gameplay already beats the EVE experience in my opinion. Other people enjoy chess on the computer. Taste differs, I guess.. However I think it's wrong to try to compare E:D to EVE, since the only similarities are space and MMO.

Yes because Goons affect you in High-sec, they stimulate the economy by PVP. Ships die > people buy new ships > industry needs to make more > miners mine more

It's a symbiotic relationship, because of a player-run economy.

Yeah... No. At best they could be described as a money sink.

As long as ED refuses to do something about Griefers, it is best to stick to Solo. I am out of Open play and probably will leave and wait for Star Citizen if ED does not stop the Griefers.

Been playing about 6 hours tonight "I rarely get time off to do this." I have been jumped 4 times, 2 Anaconda's, A tricked out Viper and the last one was an ASP. All near Barnard s Star, not an anarchy place. I am getting very upset with the lack of consequences agianst these people. I am flying a slightly upgraded "Power plant and Power Distribution module" Eagle. It is no longer fun to work for hours to build up some cash and then have these jerks force you to spend it on insurance. Pound for pound I can take these Griefs, but they cheat by coming in in heavy tricked out ships, interdict you and crush you.

Play in the Mobius (PvE) private group, at least that way you'll (very occasionally) see another human player (who won't attack you).

Frontier already sold the game to the 40 year old guys offline or solo mode fanboys from the comodore, they got their solo , its ok , but now frontier needs more money , and new generations of players are not going to stick forever in the game as it is right now, and i dont want a WOW or even an EVE i just want PVP , risk , corps , player driven economy or missions or systems or stations , organizations , risk!!, they need to keep selling games , if they dont sell games they wont have money to develop new content ... and eve will be a single player hosted game in a few months... just keep saying " I DONT WANT EVE 2.0" " LET ME PLAY MY WAY I DONT WANT TO PVP" "THE GAME IS FANTASTIC RIGTH NOW YOU DONT NEED CONTENT WHEN YOU HAVE IMAGINATION".

Well you guys , keep saying those things and you will see how frontier stop the development in no time because they cant even pay the devs, just keep saying those things.

The game at the moment is a tech demo, if it does not evolve in a multiplayer oriented way, its going to die 100% sure, most of the fanboys already backed the game so they got all the expansions , if the new players multiplayer oriented just drop the game , who will buy the expansions? well.. nobody.

They close the other thread beating this poor, poor dead horse so you necro an old one... seriously? /sigh

They aren't going to force people into open. You talk about losing sales, if they all of a sudden force people into Open they are going to lose a good 50% of the sales they already made. I for one would absolutely file a bait and switch claim with my credit card company, uninstall the game, get a charge back, and wash my hands of Frontier and Elite, and I suspect most of the other Elite players in my demographic would do the same. Its over, the decision has been made. They are most certainly going to continue to develop content for the game going forward, as Braben clearly said in his interview that was posted recently, but this discussion on Open / Closed Group / Solo is over. The horse is dead, let it rest in peace already.

This Parrot is Dead, its Passed On, its No More, it has Ceased To Be, its Expired and Gone to Meet its Maker, this is a Late Parrot!
Its Stiff, its Bereft of Life, its Pushing Up the Daisies, its Rung Down the Curtain and Joined the Crowd Invisible, This is an Ex-Parrot!

Thanks to Monty Python.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
The other thread was closed because the argument was becoming circular. I doubt this week old thread will fare any better. Let's let this dead horse be for now.
