Thanks for opening up this thread. I've been wondering for years what developers think of graphical modding with the help of injectors.
I think that many game studios owe a lot to the modding communities out there, especially Bethesda. Without mods, I don't think for a second that Skyrim or Oblivion or even Fallout 3 would have the same amount of players today. Look at World of Warcraft for example. Would WoW have been the same without addons and custom made UIs?
And not only mods and addons/plugins, but also the little evil genious Boris Vorontsov - the creator of the ENB Series for a ton of games. To be honest, ENB Series is what keeps me hooked 4 years after the release of Skyrim.
Without it I wouldn't even have Skyrim installed on my PC.
.
This leeds me to what developers think of graphical injectors from a morally perspective.
You devs have been engaged in the game for a long time, designing, programming, tweaking and improving your game the point of satisfaction. And here we come injecting some user made binaries into your game, and adding something that resembles simple Photoshop stuff (ok some aren't really that simple).
But at the same time, these injectors can also spawn an interest in how games works and with UE4 now being free it can also spawn an interest to make your own little games.
So from a moral perspective, what do you developers think of graphics mods and its injectors?
