Game Music Packs an entirely new concept for Voice Attack

Hmm, i need dis.
It sounds as if it's amazing. :)

Unfortunately, I have no flippin' clue about any of it. I don't even own VA. Lol

Maybe it's time...

(And once again, my GPU upgrade is pushed to the bottom of the list!)

Hi Cosmic,

Yep Voice Attack is a fantastic piece of software, I think it's about $10, £8 or so in UK money. The developer, Gary, is a fantastic guy, he puts a lot of thought into Voice Attack, hence the inspiration to use his software for a Star Trek-esque idea I've had for a long time now. The music pack as is, is great and I'd love to tell you of all the things coming to it that are right around the corner, unfortunately I can't spoil everything right now, but some hints have been thrown of 'some' of the things. We've a very busy update & new release schedule between Sept-Dec. We're a tiny business, but really passionate and excited as to where this is going. It'd be a great pleasure to take you all along with us!
As for GPU's, yeah I could do with a new one myself soon lol, keeps getting pushed down the list. It's a 980 though, so probably OK for another year.
Which GPU are you planning on buying?

Maybe we should add Classic FM to the default radio list. Some good film score evenings on there!

I doubt that my choices will be of interest to many, not space-themed.

First thing was to edit the 1 to a 3 so that asking for radio 1 tunes instead to the lovely radio 3. [yesnod]

My personal presets are; two from home - Isles FM from Stornoway in the Western Isles and Cuillin FM from the Isle of Skye - plus three favourites, Chill, Linn Jazz  and Linn Classical. Chill has suffered from restricted playlists but Linn Jazz and Classical are real quality - Linn is a premium audio equipment manufacturer and produces master-copy quality recordings - they have 320K streams of both plus a general Linn Music stream with a mix of all their artists (http://www.linnrecords.com/ for an idea of those). I do wish I could afford a Linn system though. [money]

If anyone wants to see what they are like (or to use them) they are:

Isles FM http://www.hebrides.tv:8000/islesfm

Cuillin FM http://radio.canstream.co.uk:8023/live.mp3

Chill http://media-ice.musicradio.com/ChillMP3.m3u - (stick the stream url into VLC)

Linn Jazz http://89.16.185.174:8000/stream

Linn Classical http://89.16.185.174:8004/stream

I think I can afford £8. Lol probably.
I'll definitely look in to that, and your music add-on. :)

I'm currently running a really old AMD HD 6870 1GB (it's 7 this year!), that surprisingly still runs ED:H quite well. I almost never have spare cash, so whatever new card I get will be around the £150~ mark, so in all likelihood, a GTX 1050ti 4Gb, or whatever AMDs equivalent will be at the time. I've kinda lost track of AMD with all the new stuff coming out, but I was look at a RX470 4Gb a while back.

I tend to run my GPUs in to the ground, so if I had your GTX 980, I'd use it for another 4-5 years. :D

As for radio stations, I was going to suggest classic FM. :)
I listen to that quite often when driving around Wales.

Heys Cosmic,

Wow you really do run your GPU's into the ground huh :) I used to have an AMD card, HD4870, I kept that until 3 years ago hehe. It did me alright. If your current card is doing ok, it's probably better waiting until next year for a card, you'll get a bigger leap in performance and I can see this price war between AMD & Nvidia really taking hold over the next year, so you'll likely getter a better deal on new ones.

Classic FM as a preset it is then :) I like driving around Wales too, quite relaxing with orchestral music playing in the countryside.

I must be doing something wrong here. I have VA and the Verity voice pack installed and working well. Verity is the pack that is loaded by default. After a bit of faffing around I got the gamepack installed and "imported" it into VA but it stays as a separate profile in the drop down profile list. Do I have to manually switch to this profile every time I want to use a command from it? Until I select it as the profile, I don't hear the Ant's voice. So, I switch back to Verity, fly about a bit, switch to music pack and it reinitialises again. Is this how things are supposed to work?

How does this work for others?

Hi,
It sounds like you are importing it as a separate profile. You'd need to import the music pack commands in.
There are a few ways of going about this, I'd recommend using this page from VoiceAttack's manual, in particular the 'import commands from a profile' section. https://voiceattack.com/howto.aspx
I'd recommend joining our music packs forum (and perhaps HCS too) as we have helpful users on there who will be willing to have a natter and help too.

Is this still available? All of the links seem to be broken...

It morphed into a new thing back in 2019:

https://darknebula.cloud/ "Advanced voice controlled music system for VoiceAttack"

"IMPORTANT: Existing gamemusicpacks.com users will need to enter their usual login email address in ‘my account’ and use the ‘lost password’ function to activate their accounts and view past downloads. Your past downloads usually appear within 12hours."

I wonder if @Gamemusicpacks ever comes back on here to check?
