" Game suspended"???

Hi there, I havent played for weeks, and sporadically for months, Ive been waiting for Odyssey, Im updated, but when I tried to login today it says I cant connect to the servers, even though the flash screen says the servers are OK and it states the game maybe suspended. I get to the select open or solo play etc and no further.

I just changed my password.

Anyone else having similar problems?

It says the amount of tickets submitted is more than usual.

Restarting launcher doesnt help.

I havent got a clue what slave noob ring means. I dont play very often as it takes a lot of time.

Where did you buy ED from?
Direct from the Frontier Store?
Steam?
Epic?

Do you start the game with the Frontier's client?
If so you could try Options/Log Out or Log Out Machine and then log back in.

If you've got it from Steam or Epic make sure they are linked to the Frontier account.

*The above is assuming you are playing on a PC, but some of it might be relevant.

Hi Nick, yes I do play on a PC.

I got Elite Dangerous the first day it was released direct from Frontier. I used to play the original back in 84.

Ive tried all the logouts and reinstalling. I start playing from the clent.

Ive also sent a ticket put I couldnt work out how to send a log file they asked for, Im not that tecchy.

Im wondering if people hacked my account or something, but Im still at Eravate in my Cobra so Im not sure about that.

Well, i came back after a long time and had the same problem at first. Game was up to date, because steam is caring for that, but it said as well "game suspended" - maybe it's a security feature with long absence from the game. I'm really trying hard to remember what I did to solve this problem, but it just doesn't want to come to mind - for now I just let you know, you are not the only person this happened to.

if I'll remember it, I will post again - sorry, I just didn't pay that much attention to what I did.

Edit: hm, iirc it was something where I got a confirmation request with a code to enter - but I was so tired at that time, I really forgot about it, so sorry.

If you go to options on the launcher page and click logout from machine, FD will send you a confirmation code to your email address.
Enter the code and it should work.

Worth a try

Exactly that was it, Iron Body - and before came the message somewhere, that the current machine isn't valid or something like this.

Well here we are 24th Sept 2021 Just updated all my ED files Horizon and Odyessy and I'm having the exact same issue. "Can't Connect to the Servers." Oh but I can still get to the store page to buy Arcs :)
I tried all the suggestions and still no access to the server. Horizons is OK.
I don't even get to the "Select Open or Solo Play" screen I only get to the "Start" option.

I have played Elite on and off since 1984 and unfortunately for me the option I have waited for in the game namely walking on the planet surface has broken the game.

I am now 70 years young and I don't want to have a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certificate just to get a game to run. So after searching the launcher screen I found the answer in the Options > Uninstall Game.

I have plenty of other games X4 Foundations, Star Citizen, DCS, The Division 2, and a heap more. I'll reinstall ED in a year or two. In the meantime, I'll get my ED entertainment from Obsidian Ant's YouTube channel.

So just a complicated goodbye/rage quit post, you could have saved us all the trouble of reading it and just said that to start with.

Really enjoying X4 at the moment. It's my go to game for the next 6 months while I wait for F-Dev to sort out this Odyssey mess.

I regularly log on to BDO, but I'm still on Elite every day so it appears you can actually play more than one game at once and not diss the game you don't happen to be playing at that moment. It's fine to take a break now and then, in fact I recommend it, a few weeks or a couple of months break from it to do other stuff, even other games, is actually quite good for you.

We'll see you online in a few months TheMindBuddah! (well maybe not personally but you know what I mean) (y)

I love elite but the 120fps in space then a drop to 30fps in settlements. Is a far too harsh a pill for me to enjoy my immersion. Even going down to a single screen from triple 1440, I don't see any real improvement in settlement FPS.

Small improvements have come with each patch, like I can now enjoy 50fps on foot in stations with patch 7. But even with a i7, Samsung SSD Game drive, 32gb and RTX 3070 my machine is struggling with the engine in settlements which was the main selling point to us CMDR's.

Am not dissing the game that my whole set up was built around. But let's not ignore the Thargoid in the room. The engine has some serious issues with frame rate for many CMDR's, even now 4 months after the release of this DLC.

No DLC should cut performance by three quarters on the main selling point which it advertised. This is why I may sound salty, but truly am not. Just disappointed with the release but like you mentioned and the OP. Thankfully I have other games to flex the HOTAs on while I wait for a player experience that for me is more consistent with Horizons.

O7 CMDR

To be honest I think fdev bit off more than they could chew, they aren't a company known for FPS, they mostly do sims (I don't count space combat as experience in any type of FPS) so I suspect inexperience led them to be more positive than they should have been about what they could achieve. The FPS should have been a much smaller part of the overall legs update, maybe expanded later on when they had some experience.

Hopefully in 12 months time, we all look back at this "Odyssey" birthing prang and laugh!

Well we do till the next wave of Thargoid ground troops try to swarm us while defending Beagles Ridge Settlement! :)

It simply takes FDev too long - when they will have finally done it, a lot of former players will be playing other games and be gone for good. You know, NMS had it's Frontiers expansion this month, and 7 updates fixing problems with the expansion since then - 7 within a months and most is fixed now. And how long did it take FDev to produce 7 updates, which fixed most of it?- Most of it isn't fixed and it took FDev much much too long.
