Games of Skill

As a former Kings Island employee, I loved walking down Coney Mall. Games, games, games galore. It was cool seeing Games Employees selling there game and the presence of the games, coupled with older midway style rides added to the theme of Coney Mall.

Games are an integral part of many amusement parks, and I would love to be able to create a realistic midway with Games of Skill. Peach Basket, Ring Toss, Whack a Mole, etc, it all adds to the feel of the amusement park, and I would love to see these sort of games added. It would be a real treat, and something that I don't believe other games have done before.

Yes, there were mods for these in RCT3, but only for aesthetic purposes. It would be great to see ones that guests would actually use, but I think that's asking for a little too much. With the amount of detail that PC has put into the game so far, I'd be happy just to see them as scenery objects.

YES! These are in all theme parks but have never been in the... ummm... more mainstream ;-) theme park games.

They existed in the original Theme Park decades ago (think they were called 'sideshows') and you could adjust the probabilities of winning IIRC.

Great idea. The Goose Fair in Nottingham (Autumn) was fun as a student... (largest annual fair in Europe)

A Fun Fair seems to me, interesting for people perhaps more into managing park throughput, than designing buildings and rides as such. Your idea makes me think of "hook a duck" .. the "punchbag" .. and Test Your Strength with a big hammer! (Steampunk Theme?) .. Ding!

Penny falls? The Claw!! .. but Video Arcade booths (single mesh model with multiple skins) might also be .. interesting?

Have to say I'm massively impressed with Planet Coaster, even as it already stands in alpha.

Managing the games would be fun as well. Make them hard to avoid payouts, but less people will play them, and losing might lower guest happiness. Make them easy, and the stall will make less money, but more people will play, and winning makes them happier. Being able to theme the prizes, and see the guests carrying their prizes around would be really cool. Seeing a little kid trying to carry a giant stuffed animal around the park would be hilarious.

Maybe things like this?

A game where you have to climb a dodgy looking rope ladder to ring a bell.

A basketball game where you have to throw a ball in the hoop

Pretty self explainitory

This could be done easily by having a chance that someone wins, but their age (child, teen, adult) might depend on their chances, or maybe urge to use it. You could have a set price per play, and select the type of prize (large teddy bear, small doll toy thing). The price per pay will impact on how reluctant a child's parents are to pay, but not so much a children's desire to go on the stall?

Big plus one 1+ on skill games. [happy][up]

Those were a mandatory thing in the ol' good Bullfrog Theme parks games. However, RCT and now Planet coaster haven't really touched this area of amusement parks yet. [mouth shut]

I would suggest they would be 8 m wide (wide as two shops together) to make a good proportion for them in the game. Would need one more wall type though; wide opening wall that would work as the wide arch wall.
