My experience of the Community meeting :

It all started with Gregorburns coming over to the Netherlands to spend some time over at my house, which was already very cool in itself. (Yes, Planet Coaster DOES give you new friends!!)
Our trip to germany went very smooth and quick ... until we reached Cologne. Traffic in Cologne is chaos, traffic is Cologne with Gamescom is more chaos, and driving in Cologne with Gamescom and a non-functioning navigation because of all the tunnels is CHAOS.

Eventually we got to find a parking space under the Cologne Cathedral. From there it was still a bit of a walk but that provided us with a nice look around Cologne., walking by the river is quite a unique view. From there we already saw the SKYtower where the event was being held so navigating there was quite easy. Once there we met up with Crowdpleaser who also had his problems with parking.
After all the park troubles we went for something to eat downside at the tower. It was a strange concept, but it tasted quite well!

Then we went back to the tower and i was quite surprised to find out the event was all the way on the top! (28th floor). In small groups we were send to the elevators which took us all the way to the 28th floor. Once there it was quite overwhelming. There was glass all around and thus the venue provided a beautifull view over Cologne, wow!! (the view over the city almost resembles playing City Skylines). Soon thereafter Joël also arrived and the small group of my familiar PC friends was complete for the night.

Soon enough we were able to meet up with Bo and Ed to say hello, and as always we were met with great enthousiasm. It's always such a warm and welcome feel when you meet Bo and Ed.
It was a bit strange to us how small the Planet Coaster group was compared to the much larger Elite community. It all made sense once Bo told us the meeting over there was traditionaly an Elite meeting. (Makes sense because last year Planet Coaster wasn't released yet). Im still proud we were there to represent Planet Coaster!! :D

Also the amount of drinks and food was quite overwhelming! Even for very picky eaters like myself there was something to eat! (The Currywurst was quite delicious :D )
It was also cool to meet some new Planet Coaster fans i hadn't met before (Spanky, Palaber, Rudi) I even managed to thank Spanky for the User Generated Content he provided back in RCT3, even after 10 years, better late then never i guess?? And we were able to go to the observatory platform on top of the building! It was quite magical to have such an overview of Cologne when it's dark.

Before long the evening was over. Time flies when you are having fun :(
It was time to say goodbye to my dear coasterfriends Crowdpleaser and Joël. Gregorburns and me went on a journey to find our car again which provided us one last beautiful look over nightly Cologne.

THANKS Frontier for another great experience!!

Hey coaster friends!

Here's my post with memories of Frontier Meet Gamescom 2017 in Cologne. A little bit late, but nonetheless amazing memories that will stay with me which I will cherish [praise]

First of all, a huge thank you to Frontier for organising this community meeting. It was truly a heart-warming pleasure to join this wonderful meeting! I have met so many lovely people and they are all equally amazing when you talk to them. They all have something in common: love and passion for the games of Frontier.

Most of the community members were players of Elite: Dangerous, the other well known game of Frontier. Fortunately, there were also some lovely Coaster Heads, representing Planet Coaster! I've met most of them, and it was a pleasure to get to know them a little better. Some I have met for the first time, and others are friends I already met during previous events.

For me the evening started when I arrived at KölnSKY, the venue of Frontier Meet. I didn't know what to expect of the venue, and I was overwhelmed once I entered the 28th floor: a breathtaking view over Cologne and a wonderful group of passionate members of the community! Frontier had arranged for everything you could need for a successful meeting: welcome drinks, many drinks to choose from during the evening (no Gulpee drinks), and a selection of plenty delicious warm and cold food (including currywurst and something vegetarian) and desserts (all for free).

There was a small stage where Ed held a speech for all of the attendees, and a toast to the ever amazing community. There was also a raffle with a chance to win some nice prizes. There was even a small DJ booth where a DJ played nice pop music during the entire event!

I enjoyed talking with my friendly fellow Coaster Heads, with the wonderful Ed and Bo, and even with some amazing Elite: Dangerous players, while enjoying said drinks and food, and an epic view over Cologne during night!

At the end of the meeting, members slowly started to leave the venue. After many hugs and saying goodbye to my friends, it was time to say goodbye to the stars of the evening: Ed and Bo, who had made sure that everyone had the best evening ever. They took time to chat with as many members as possible, and you could see and enjoy their passion and enthusiasm as they talked about their games, what they do and what they enjoy in and from the community.

Frontier Meet was truly an awesome meeting, and a wonderful memory to cherish forever [heart]
