Please keep it in mind for those of us who don't exploit.
That's all we respectfully ask... It is a big part of the social side of gaming, like taking a photo together in front of Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower as a tourist, we were looking forward to taking high res screenies in front of all the major bodies in SOL as part of our community project. It's little things like this that hinder the social aspect of Elite flourishing for us...

Me too. Although I sure hope that paying for repairs to ship wear & tear now also means that my windows will finally get cleaned as part of that cost. I didn't see anything about that specifically in the fix list, and its getting to be a real mess seeing out of my Cobra's cockpit a lot of the time now.
And yes, I do feel kind of lousy even bringing that up, as this update has a very, very impressive list of fixes which I am eager to take a look at myself tonight ... well done Frontier! I'm just constantly seeing that layer of filth on my ship's windows now, for significant portions of every flight, and it is bugging me more and more.
That's fine if you play on your own, but for those of us that play with friends that is not a reasonable compromise or solution.

OK, so not there in OPEN play but Is available in Solo Play. Where does the middle gound, PRIVATE PLAY fit in this? YES for His Res, or NO ?

And there's no way around this Michael? This game is beautiful and I personally love taking screenshots and putting them on rotation on my desktop backgrounds. Brings a smile to my face thinking back to the scenario the screenshot was taken with fellow commanders. Now this has been taken away, I'm not aware of an exploit. It seems something nice for us who don't cheat or use exploits (whatever it was) is being taken away because of a few people cheating.
That doesn't seem fair to us genuine players
It's only the high res screenshots that have been disabled (alt-f10). I assume the standard screenshots still function as before which presumably is what you're using as backdrops. It's a shame but I understand why.
