It's only the high res screenshots that have been disabled (alt-f10). I assume the standard screenshots still function as before which presumably is what you're using as backdrops. It's a shame but I understand why.

No we were using the high res. They look incredible, as they should. Why would you assume we were using the low res screenshots?

The bug-fix should probably read 'Upscaled screenshots'. Presumably if you run at 4K resolution, you'll be taking 4K screenshots still.
 
Yay Elite has been dragged kicking and screaming into the modern era of gaming and given us route planning.

Pen and paper sellers must be livid right about now.

Did anybody spot if the 'Sell All Data' button has returned to the Universal Cartography menu?

This update got my pulse up! I had to race 40 LY in 10 minutes in a Type-6, in order to lay my hands on some rare goods in case they were nerfed. Made it with seconds to spare.

I'm hoping that would be in the release notes and not just brushed under the carpet, I would be annoyed if they did that!

Remarkable. A major update like this less than a week before launch. Anyone else would have saved stuff like new ships for launch day. It just shows the respect these guys have for the tester community.

Looks like the interdiction rates have been tweaked massively with several interlocking changes. I can't work out how they'll come out! Also seems that bounty hunting won't spoil your rep with the local faction which is a big improvement.

And I've got to go out tonight and won't get back until quite late! Aaaaaargh!
 
- Randomise the asteroid composition instead of using the deterministic seed to prevent people quitting and reloading repeatedly after finding a good asteroid to get around the chunk limit

Glad that one's been addressed as it was too tempting to relog after finding a nice platinum asteroid.
