These are great to see, however...

There's limited value in such changes when the Galaxy Map settings are all reset to their defaults every time you use the System View/System Map. :(

In other words, as I've ticketed three times now since Beta2, the Galaxy Map settings either need to persist throughout entire play sessions, or they need to persistent until the Galaxy Map is closed or they need to persist forever, and/or have options for any/all combinations of those persistence choices.

this x2 :) have some rep. I've ticketed this same issue too. Like banging your head against a wall. Why??? God Why!!! It's like 99% of the pilots out there don't even notice or get annoyed by this? drives me nuts lol

Awesome jobe: Seperate 'UI Back' into its own bindable input (Note this might affect players with custom bindings!)

But please FD, ALLOW US ALSO TO BIND 'MENU' TO SOMETHING ELSE, SO WE CAN BIND BACK TO ESCAPE.

Edited: I bound it to ` is ok for me.

Gooood job FD. Very much appreciated.

You guys are awesome! i applaud you for all the hard work you're putting in cranking out fixes before release. I'll be one happy player when release day comes...

Have you got "Report crimes against me" enabled?

Disabling this does not solve the problem.

My pet theory is that the wanted vessel is calling for help using the same code path that this option enables and once help arrives the security force just blindly attacks the attacker, i.e. you.

Whether a wanted felon should be able to call for help, (assuming they can in the first place), is a question best left for the FD devs.

Ok, there may be some confusion here...

There's now a keybinding for "Back" in the UI, and that's great.
There's a keybinding for bringing up the "Pause" menu (terribly named, but whatever), and that's great, too.
Unfortunately, Escape (the Escape key) overrides both of these.

What I want (and I suspect others too) is a way to either map Escape to do all of these, all the time, or a way to STOP Escape from doing these things, all the time.

Having custom binds is great, but when Escape overrides them, it's kind of... meh?

i would think kramster that now means your can config your UI Controls to use the same buttons as say Joy_up Joy_down as well as use them as flight controls as before they were being cleared when u tried to set them twice for the same movement.

Tested this and it dosent have the effect described using the same button said button twice in the controls section still removes the old binding it was assigned to

Good work on the needed fixes, but I don't see anything here about how the reputation system is harming bounty hunters. Still trying to figure out if it's "safe" to get back into bounty hunting now, or if that's still broken.

Reputation matters now, so it's kind of important that we get this fixed. Or at least tell us if this is how you want it to work, and explain it clearly.

frustrated from continous changes in bindings

Hello everyone,

Gamma 2.03 changelog here for you!

  • Seperate 'UI Back' into its own bindable input (Note this might affect players with custom bindings!)
[*] Made backspace the default back button for all control schemes to ensure it's always at least bound to something. Control pad schemes also have B bound to back too
  • Fix repro'd case of spinning ship lock on load
  • Fix soft lock when buying data and then going to system view
  • Ensure that we do not send a webrequest that will result in a module being attached to a slot that it should not fit on (fixes broken decal save crash)
  • Fix for ATI driver crash seen when the Imperial capital ship warps in
  • Fix client-side bankruptcy bug - clear player's fines & bounties from the respawn system, not the one that happened to be selected
  • Fixed assert caused by trying to generate planets in a nebula
  • Fix for missions not showing up when moving servers
  • Fix to cobra's front hardpoint door animation being swapped
  • Reduce memory footprint of route finder to compensate for larger search radius
  • Refresh the mission list if we initially fail to accept or update a mission
  • Split WearAndTear into visual and gameplay parts, repaired separately
  • Prevent dropping out of supercruise into capital ships
  • Remove Electosmelters from cargo drop
  • A couple of galaxy map trade route improvements:
    • Switching on an individual commodity will now automatically toggle on its parent category
    • Added buttons for selecting all/none
  • Track IR fixes:
    • No TrackIR roll in cockpit fixed
    • Sluggishness when using TrackIR 5 fixed
  • Added some logging for accepting missions failing and updating missions failing
  • Fix for plotting jumps in the galaxy map which are too long
  • Added support for AV8R01 by adding it as an alternate AV8R03 scheme
  • Auto downgrades support added (automatic graphic settings)
  • Commodities market UI cargo count doesn't update when discarding cargo fixed
  • Fix the problem where routes plotted with jumps greater then 20LY would not show up on the navigation panel
  • Galaxy generation optimisation
  • Tweaked shadow setting in the high and medium presets
  • Salvage missions now correctly spawn objectives
  • Make normal slavery collect missions give cash not just rep
  • Fix for galaxy map sometimes showing solid lines on plotted routes when they should have been dotted due to insufficient fuel
  • Fixed trade route filters stop working if you use Clear while a heading is expanded
  • Upped AI bounties to make bounty hunting more viable as a career

And a server-side update too!
  • Prevent paintjobs and decals being applied to unsupported ship slots
  • Allow exploration data worth 0 credits to be sold
  • Activate the link between commodity markets and faction simulation
  • Fix some failing requests for starport news

Thank you but can you please stop changing button assignments it took me countless times to reconfigure bindings for my controller and keyboard since Gamma 2.0) and subsequent updates.. I want to play alittle bit if you don't mind also, and not trying to spot which button has changed for every minor hotfix update...
thank you and sorry for the frustration I have fallen into and express here

I discovered something new, which they didn't list in the change log:

When I started the game, it said something like "Hardware detection error, do you want to apply the defaults for your current controls?" I said no, of course. Before it would just wipe your controls, and not even tell you it'd done so! Been wanting this for ages, although it might be a bit buggy since I already had my EDTracker plugged in....

A simple solution: Don't play alpha/beta/gamma, and instead wait for Release... Or put-up with the hassle of "testing"!
