And again, really, two days prior to release, why are they fiddling with these "little things" rather than the big things?

Actually it let out, after the longest hyperspace jump I've ever seen bar the crashing that used to be the travel tutorial. And then it disconnected.

Is this like star trek where the even number patches are good and the odd ones bad ?

Isn't that OS X?
 
I thought it was good to go, was finally able to play for quite some time, and now I keep getting disconnected again. A shame really, as it's my last chance to play before launch.
 
There is no such thing as rolling back a patch (unless you want to mess things up even more). Only making a new one and reversing changes :p

Well I've be writing software for 32 years and I'd both agree and disagree. It's perfectly possible to write code that can be rolled back and sloppier to write code than can't be.

But FD seem to be doing daily patches that are rushed and not properly tested. It's something called a bad code smell.

ok now I'm getting desconnected every 20 min it seems. Had a amazing fight with a bigger ship that was going on for 10 minutes and then BAAM lost server connection again and my epic fight just vanished after relogin ......

You guys really have to fix your servers. The game is so amazing and all the disconnections and server problem are spoiling it pretty much ....
 
Just got kicked out with cannot connect to matchmaker server, went straight back in but got continuous spinning ship.

Killed in task manager and Launcher now shows Upgrade ??, Quit and reloaded Launcher, still got upgrade, did not take long so going in again.

edit for addition, after the little upgrade, started game and got in fine, seemed a lot quicker to get in than it has been since Beta2.

Lasted 10 mins and kicked out due to crappy matchmaking server again and I am Solo.

Hmm maybe FD should take a look at r53988/r0 and do a diff or something. I've been in-game since patch 2.05 came out. Haven't got any disconnect, no slow hyperspace and no other problems so far from the client or the server.
UPDATE: still working flawlessly for me (solo mode) and i'm still on the old revision above.
 
Managed to play for about 20 minutes then Matchmaker problem kicked me off. Then I just appeared in mid space and was able to continue.

STABILITY seems to be the biggest problem, not convinced this is going to be fixed before 16th.

Yeah I'm watching a couple of streams and one of the guys just got a MatchMaker disconnection 3 times in the space of 4 or 5 minutes.
 
You guys really have to fix your servers. The game is so amazing and all the disconnections and server problem are spoiling it pretty much ....

+1 to this - seriously get the launch done then take some server space and build some kind of connection benchmarking system. Then test each patch against that.
 
Most of the problems people are having are networking related.

P2P is very flakey. The people who can't play at all (and never have been) should be looking at their router and firewall settings (you might need to open or forward ports etc, or enable upnp). Also if their ISP is throttling or blocking P2P, some do.

Actually, come to think of it , why is there no test server ?

I mean let players on to test a patch before inflicting it on paying customers and in return give the a paint job or something.
