I was able to play before the 54009 upgrade, i.e. when there were SSODs reports. After the 54009 updrade I have SSOD, i.e. the update has ruined it for me.

I had the spinning ship problem as well (which I never had before) with 2.05 and it looks like this very latest patch (2.05 54009) has fixed it. Thank you.

Hi all,

We have a potential fix for this "spinning sidewinder" issue.
If you could confirm for me that this new executable fixes the problem for you that would be great!

Download from;

http://hosting.zaonce.net/elite/gamma205/EliteDangerous32.exe

and replace your EliteDangerous32.exe wherever the game is installed for you and try again.

Tried it and it worked ok for me, must admit was a bit apprehensive though lol, but yep it worked thanks

Spinning ship for a minute or so and then got 'could not connect to the adjudication server'. Retrying...

Edit: Second attempt at joining Open Play got me the same result, but I went straight into Solo

OK...

Wee update got me into open play.

Fired up FSD and travelled to an USS - hit J to drop out at USS and got the "Error connecting to matchmaker server. Press OK to return to main menu." error. Then when quitting to desktop, black screen and need to use Task Manager to close client.

Thanks for the quick update just now. First time i got a connection error after 60 secs, 2nd time just a spinning ship again. Will shut down and start from scratch

Do they actually use AWS though? All I remember is Michael saying they use the same servers as Amazon, which sounded to me more like they use the same server scaling technology, but not necessarily actually running on AWS. So it could be they are overloaded if their in-house servers can't scale high enough.
